Our recent good form in the league has a lot to do with the good work of certain members of the squad, including Alonso, Gerrard, Crouch, Pennant, Reina and Kuyt.

The game against Everton is a bit misleading in the sense that it makes almost any midfielder look average. Lots of men in the middle of the park, even the men Everton had in the wings were midfielders, at least with Arteta. It's complicated to have a comfortable game. It's true that they made some mistakes, but it's true also that the kind of game they had was prone to make more mistakes.

But when it comes to analyse what they're providing to the team as of late, I'm more than happy

I'm happy you're happy Sabre .  :D

Not launching an attack on Gerrard or Alonso as some seem to have interpreted it . Simply stating that imo both have not been at their BEST in recent games if fact I think Alonso has been under par  by the standards we know he 's capable of for most of this season. Still good enough certainly , but occasionally a bit sloppy . Sloppy being a word you wouldn't normally associate with Gerrard or Alonso .

i would leave gerrard in for the match against Newcastle, who knows if we are in a good position with time left we can bring him off and put sissoko/mascherano out there to try get match fitness...

but i would definately rest him for sheffield at home, no disrespect to them but i think we can afford to go into that game without gerrard so he's fresh to step in manure and barca.

Everton have a proud history.

What was their famous striker called?

Dixon Of Dock Dean or something?
