he had a steady game today and did well for the team, not bad for a freebie

I thought he looked good today, but maybe because I'm a left footer as well

He seems to want to prove himself, and that early run was brilliant.  Didn't do too much wrong but his influence did wane as the match went on.

too early to judge for me, but he's a grafter and isn't afriad of a tackle which is good.

Frightened the life out of Clichy, and he's no mug when it comes to defending thought our play lost a lot of its urgency when he was withdrawn ..... Rodriguez certainly needs to up his game considerably if he is to warrant a starting berth ....we don't need passengers  ???

Couldn't really tell on MOTD to be honest....a few decent challenges and at least looked positive. The one effort in the first half was a mile wide of the target though.

I would think Babble would be given a go at the left side before Maxi - Is he a possible transfer casualty?

On the play you're talking about he had either Kuyt or N'gog wide open about 8 yards from goal but didn't see him.  Had made his mind up a bit early.

make or break time for maxi here. If he doesn't up his game, i'd ship him out in jan. He went missing far too often last season and today he was the same.

I bet he gets on well with Kuyt. Both are hard-working and slightly bonkers. Certainly from a defensive standpoint that bodes well as you'd much rather have those two in there ahead or maxi or Pacheco - who may come in handy against teams who come to park the bus.

Didn't really impress me to be honest...but then neither did Joe Cole... showed some signs of promise with his hard work though so I'll wait and see. In contrast I thought Kuyt put in a very good and effective performance outshining the two newbies...

Jova looks like left flank version of Kuyt.  :D We'll become impossible to break down with him and Kuyt on either flanks. :)
