As satisfying as it would be to see the Mancs or Chelsea dumped out of the competition at this stage, I must say that it benefits us in the long run to see all of our competitors for the CL places tied up in as many cup competitions as possible.  The Mancs, in particular, have a thin squad and a decent run in multiple competitions might just see them run out of gas down the line.

Oh dear, the defending for their 2nd and 3rd goal was a complete joke.

great game to watch but reina frustrates me big time i was shattin meself in the final minuites. it was only reading but one of my favourite games ive been to this season pennant was playin well he seamed to have picked up his pace again but he need's to run at them a bit more and palletta is fearless in some of his tackles and to witness robbie score was effin brilliant come on red men keep it up!

Good win, but yet again, we take our foot off the pedal and think the job is done before the 90 minutes are up. They cannot be complacent. They didn't learn their lesson from the match versus Galatasaray. How many more close results do they need before the message gets through?

Basic defending cost us two goals, Reina cost us the other and nearly gave away an equaliser with a poor punch. Robbie took his goal well and linked play well from the little it showed on tv. Kuyt's shot was a cracker, pity it hit the bar.

Birmingham away next, just as they are starting to show some form.

Dont think there was anything to get too worried about last night.  I know the game should have been dead and buried but at 3-0 sissoko went off and at 4-1 Risse was replaced by kuyt so with three upfront it really was all out attack.  We were left with a very young and unexperienced midfield and defense but there were some positive performances from Guthrie, Peltier, Paletta and Pennant was much better tonight too.  I know it was a bit shaky at the end but the win was the most important thing.

Also, there doesnt seem to be any mention of injuries and it was great to see both fowler and Crouch get on the score sheet again, class finish from fowler.  Would have have been nice for Kuyt to round things off with that great volley but cant complain.

Onwards and upwards from here.
