Everton boss David Moyes has insisted that he would not accept an apology from referee Mark Clattenburg.

Still reeling after Saturday's Merseyside derby defeat, Moyes has hit out at Clattenburg's display and questioned his relationship with Rafa Benitez's side.

The 32-year-old official chose not to award Everton a penalty in the dying seconds after Joleon Lescott was tugged down by Jamie Carragher.

Clattenburg also chose not to send off Dirk Kuyt after the Dutchman lunged wildly at Phil Neville, and dubiously switched from a yellow to a red card when dealing with Tony Hibbert's foul on Steven Gerrard.

Earlier in the season, Liverpool were victim of poor refereeing when Rob Styles awarded Chelsea a soft penalty at Anfield.

Friend

Styles subsequently contacted Benitez in order to apologise to the Spaniard for his costly error.

However, Moyes has revealed that he has no intention of even speaking to Clattenburg, and also questioned the referee's relationship with the Anfield club - comments which may land him in hot water with the Football Association.

"Rob Styles phoned Liverpool to apologise over a penalty against Chelsea, but if Clattenburg did the same, I wouldn't take the call," he said.

"You wonder whether they allow themselves to be influenced by the top four. Didn't Clattenburg go to Hong Kong with Liverpool for the Asia Cup this summer? Maybe he wants to be their friend."

Blatant

Moyes further vented his frustration at Clattenburg's performance, insisting that his decisions were 'incredible'.

"I've tried not to talk about referees, but the decisions he has made have cost us," he added.

"You could have said 'okay, he got a couple of things wrong', and I can, but the one in the final second is so blatant that to get that wrong on top of everything else was just incredible.

"I have to question whether you can referee if you don't see that foul on Joleon Lescott by Jamie Carragher."

is he our friend lmao, i dont think so, other wise he would have ruled out Samis goal for being offside :D

Toffee I see your post count has soared up to fifty nine interjections. Aside from one slightly longer ramble, they are almost all of the one sentence variety, and having studied them all at some length I have come to the conclusion that you are still to make a single point worthy of note.

Either you specialise in wanton buffoonery, you are a wind-up merchant, or you have absolutely no knowledge of the game of Association Football whatsoever. My money is on the second option, with the distinct possibility of a two/three combo. If however you come in good faith and do despite all previous evidence have a modicum of a clue, try waiting your moment and posting something relevent, insightful, or funny even.

I am blessed with a fairly long fuse, too long sometimes but you are managing to achieve something which very few people on here have ever managed, in that you are really getting on my t!ts.

Chill mate... and take the advise..... Mick's a fairly tolerant guy and if you're getting on his t!ts, then you're getting on a lot of people's tatas... I assure you.

Just count yourself lucky that you're not on peewee's jugs... He's got a nice pair and he doesn't take too kindly to anyone, not of his choice, jumping on his chest.

:D  :D
