No he was free.

And i disagree, on form and fit he was a key player.
like andy said underrated.
It was just a shame that as soon as he appeared to be hitting form he got another injury.

he wasn't free, because he had already signed a bosman deal with another club before Rafa went to sign him from Valencia.

If my memory serves me right, we paid 3 million to the club he had signed a contract with. It might have been PSG.

even back then Rafa was making transfer gaffs.

didnt know that tbh.

But even if he did cost money he was definately better than a squad player.

Goodbye Fabio..... you can take the treatment table with you as a keepsake(well if you manage to shake Degen off it ) ,although you may have to share it with Kewell I believe he was particularly fond of it as well  :D

Seriously all the best for the future Fab

Aurelio is the only Brazilian I'll be sorry to see go.  Our best left back but unfortunately too injury prone.

Wish him all the best!

Good luck Fab.

I think the Liverpool side will look a lot different next season anyways to say the least.

I reckon with Fab gone, Riera, Yossi, Masch and babel will all be following.  If there was ever a time for Rafa to do well in the market, its now.

all the best Fabio, hope you have better luck on the injury front in the future.

Quality left peg, decent enough defender but just too injury prone. I'll remember him for last season, for his performances and for keeping Dossena out of the team. It surely means we'll be on the lookout for a new LB, or at least a new defender as Agger can do the job at LB well enough.

I wonder where he'll end up, maybe Newcastle or some club in Turkey?

Anyway, cheers Fab you money grabbing c.*@t :D

Did the tooth fairy tell you that?

Aurelio was free - like it or lump it.

A brilliant player who was held back by an unreal amount of injuries. On top form, I'd take him over any leftback in the league - and I include the vastly overrated Cole in that. (Mind you, he's English, so he's bound to be overrated.)

Good luck, Fabio. Just remember it's not too late to change your mind!

Erm, if all LBs were in "top form" I think I'd have to take Evra and probably one or two others over Aurelio - Warnock and Clichy to name two others immediately spring to mind

Don't get me wrong, when fit and playing well he was a good enough LB, but I'd say he's far from the best LB around and I doubt he'd make many (neutral) top fives

We may have technically got him on a Bosman, but only after we had paid 3 million for another club to tear up a contract they had already agreed with him.
