A much needed win. Was hoping it might have turned into a bit of a rout but in the end it was all a bit nervy. Don't think it's a wise idea to play Arbeloa at CB. He's a full-back through and through and i'm sure we would have been more comfortable with Skrtel alongside big Sami. Shame Pompey snatched an ugly win today but the bitters have to play City so a draw or a City win will do nicely there. Was meant to be going the game today but have to be on-site at work for the weekend, atleast MOTD will be worth a watch this time around!

I hope he comes good next season but for a player who was Brazilian player of the year his first touch and his distrabution are poor, he gives the ball away far to much and is easily knocked off the ball.

Torres was captain of his team at 19 at Atletico. He's also now an experienced international. He's been around longer than you'd think. Lucas has a way to go yet.

Aye, I know.  Didn't feel like deleting the old quote.  Was meant for the:

"It takes a while to adapt to the Premier League" comment.

He has experience as Captain and many goals Internationally, but this is his first year in the Premiership.

Why is Kuyt being singled out here? He had a good second half and even set up Torres's third. Here's a list of names that were worse today:
Babel
Lucas
Gerrard

3-2 at home against a bottom-half of the table side is hardly anything to shout about, however they have been a bogey team for us in recent years so it's a decent result and we can be pretty pleased.

Glad to see Rafa keeping the same team bar one forced change and great to see Torres bag a hat-trick.

If you want to pick out any negatives it's conceding 2 goals at home, but to be honest with the makeshift defence we had I wasn't expecting a clean sheet.  Job done.

Then it's all good, man!  :D

My only complaint of Torres is that he isn't scoring more than that greasy tw@t at United.

if you can't at least be temporarily happy after a league win, then you need to rethink your priorities.  Focus on the long term later, for now, ENJOY

Anyone have the highlights?  I was watching the live feed and took a 4 minute break to make some snacks, and we were up 2-1  :D
