Litmanen was a wonderful player we got on free and let go on free, I think?
He was woefully under used; and for the team we had at that time, far too technically gifted and inventive. Despite his injuries.

We didn't want to sell Owen and Litmanen was the only class player we sold (Anelka wasn't owned).

Part of me was happy he was sold as GH didn't deserve him, he sat on the bench the whole time while we played a donkey up front instead. I still hate GH and all the ****** he did. Litmanen was so creative, I think he's the only creative player we had since Beardsley (hopefully Alonso will be).

None of the others (including Fowler by the time we sold him) were really up to much.

Definatley should have kept Berger Litmanen and Anelka if you ask me.

jari litmanen only played 5 full games for lfc because of houllier leavin him on the bench for heskey. He was a gem

Like Anelka, he never got a proper run in the team.

I remember watching Litmanen against Man City in the 2001 f.a. cup. He had an absolute blinder before coming off injured. His set up for Heskeys goal was brilliant. However, after leaving Liverpool he never recovered from injuries to be a force at Ajax. I reckon its just a shame that he didn't play for us when he was in his mid 20's.

yes have too agree but another annoying thing is when we play ppl one game, they score or have an exc game then are dropped then nxt week come on as sub play well again and then get dropped wtf was that luckilly mainly was houlier. I think if he didnt like some players they didnt get played. Litmanen scored a lot when he was played but always had bit parts. Same for berger.
lol i remember when fowler came on once and scored two goals and played well then he wasnt even on the bench the nxt game and he wasnt injured either. Realy frustrated me!!!1 :angry:

i'm in the jari gang too. it always gets me a bit down that we never even had the chance to get the best out of him. i think that him and fowler when they played together played some of the most wonderful to watch creative attacking football we've seen.

Steve McMahon, Dean Saunder, Ray Houghton...Mr Souness made a lot of mistakes to let them go and after that we were fcuked up!!! :angry:
