I'd rather have van Nistelroy. He's the same age as Toni ,I think, would be perfetc till the end of the season and maybu for the next.As a sub ofcourse. But the strikers arent the only ones that are a problem.Midfield sucks becouse of a lack of good subs and an injured player that we hope on so much. Wingers arent bad but could do better, and we dont have a corner guy in defense. But the striking position seed the most important last year, so we should start improving that position first.

For starters play Aurelio at LB constantly and dont let Insua anywhere near the pitch, same for Lucus.

Signings, we need Toni or Nistelrooy. Someone who can get that strikers luck or just som1 who has composure to finnish a 1 on 1. Toni and Rooy have that. We desperately need a right winger who can beat his man and basically the entire squad needs to step up to the plate. The entire squad is underperforming so no matter who we sign they wont make a difference unless the team steps up.

If they are on frees, and happy to come, sign one, t'other, or both. We're not exactly overloaded with strikers, debating which of two would be better to go for is short-sighted given our second choice is currently either N'Gog or Kuyt and then it's down to the other then Voronin. A trio of Van Noodleboy, Toni and Torres would be pretty handy, and if frees don't work out then we can sell for a few million. Having them wouldn't damage our prospects, it certainly wouldn't weaken our squad and is a lot better than most of our more recent freebies - Itandje, Voronin, Degen and Aurelio.

Then perhaps we can focus on creating them enough chances, might well mean a shift to 4-4-2 and Gerrard in the middle next to Lucas/Mascherano. We could even play Mascherano sat in front of the back four, two wide men with Gerrard behind the two strikers. Having two deeper midfielders hasn't stopped the team conceding or losing, perhaps a bit more attacking emphasis might mean we keep the ball at the right end for longer and therefore don't need the second DM.

No to toni , we'll resort to playing long balls again like we did with crouch

We were better when we had Crouch though???

We had an alternative option, this wasn't a problem because Rafa used Crouch sparingly anyway.

I actually fancy him playing for Liverpool as a short term solution.

i posted a thread about this guy 18mth ago. but no one seemed interested in my proposal then.

im a fan of this guy, and believe he shouldve been at LFC at the time torres came

And our midfield is so bad at the moment, taking them out of the equation might be the best idea

Am actually not a big fan of Toni, i think he is so slow and looked a terrible player at the euros.

But, he is still far better than what we have behind Torres so would be worth looking at just to give us another option.
Our striking options are so bad its almost funny.

Toni would flop massively in the EPL.

Heskey a far better option IMO.

Emule? What for, to hoof the ball up to and by-pass our midfield?

I'm not convinced by this guy from what I saw in the euros. Looked like the strikers equivalent of Kyrgiakos.
I'd rather have Kevin Phillips if we're going down that route.

I've also heard that this Pandev fella is available on a free and he's supposed to be quite highly rated.
