If you're going to pay someone high wages, play them, if not, get them out.

How? If the player doesn't want to leave and prefers to rot like that Chelsea player that ran out his contract in the reserves.

Knowing full well that he doesn't figure in Rafa's plans, Pennant has shown how much ambition and drive he has by choosing to stay.

I never thought I'd say it of a Liverpool player, but this is one player with no redeeming value at all and I can't wait to see his @rse out the door.

Poor, POOR signing.

i thought at one point pennant would really kick on - during first season in the second half of that season he started looking very good and played his best match for us in th CL final then he got injured last season and since then nothing from him . wasted talent really .

Why pennant hasnt been used is beyond me, even at his very worst he's better than kuyt on the Right, especially in a 4-4-2

I don't think Pennant puts the effort in to be honest, and his indiscipline has cost us in some games too.  Therefore I have no sympathy for the treatment he's getting at the moment.

Finnan is another story.  He has been good for us over the years, always gives 100% and is very consistent with a top attitude.  I don't agree with the treatment he has been receiving this summer at all.  Questions about Benitez's man management have been raised in the past - this is an example of it at it's worst.

Agree with john craig on the effort shown by Pennant. He should take a leaf out of Dirk Kuyt's book...and if he puts in half of the efforts Kuyt always does, he'd be a much more efective and better performer for us, given that he has some talents.

I always wince when I see his name in the starting line-up...and selling him will not be a big personnel loss even though we will face some financial loss.

He's good sometimes, but his crossing is bad.

Needs to work on that, otherwise he'll be shipped to Vietnam.

And by "shipped to Vietnam" I mean "sold to another football team"

His crossing is bad and woefully inconsistent, but then so is his beard...

He must be as good as gone or a think he would have at least made the bench the way we are out wide.
When your already down the pecking order then a youth player is put ahead of you its quite clear your not wanted IMO.
I too think though in a straight 442 i`d have him ahead of Kuyt and im a Dirk fan, its just he`s not made for the role and when we have a similar player on the left our play is WAY to narrow and predicable.
At the moment IMO we have to change back to the system that got us going last season and at the moment with everyone fit i`d play this.

                                       Reina

                        Carra                    Skrtel/Agger
                                                 (go with form)

Darby/arbeloa                                                               Aurelio
     (GWF)
                           Masch                    Alonso

            Gerrard                                               Babbel
                                      Keane

                                      Torres

I thought we signed Keane to play that possition?
Fair enough Masch couldnt play but how much better does that look to the way we`ve been setting up?
I think if Keanes role was a little better defined he`d start to play better, just now its like he`s a little unsure wether he`s playing with Torres or behind him and i think it`s stifeling both and making it harder for Torres to find space between the CB`s that he does so well because he is also having to think about leaving space in that area for Keane.
We must play to Torres`s strengths and there is no way we are doing that playing a straight front two.
Gone a bit off topic sorry.
