The Intertoto cup isn't accounted for and the league co-efficient contributes to a third of the club co-efficient, probably the reason why Newcastle are so high up. Bonus points are also added for reaching the UCL group stage. Feck knows how Fulham got there.

I wonder how Malaga C.F made it to the 54th place if they've been playing in Segunda Division this season, and haven't played in Europe as far as I can remember. Never, ever.

As for the UEFA ranking concerning Liverpool I don't care. I don't rate the opinion of a burocrat bunch that said what they said some weeks ago.

Liverpool are the most famous english team and one of the best of Europe, everybody knows that, and when it comes to the major competition in europe, they're second, not third.

Rankings? bah.

2002/03 - Malaga reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA cup. Along with finishing 13th in the league. That would explain the ranking.

It will all change in a year or 2 as Leeds, Malaga etc drop like bombs out of the rankings.

Top right corner click over to 2008 and you see how it stands for 2008 at this stage - we're still 3rd but Barcelona fall and Chavski are in second. Oooerr.  Once we get the 03/04 season off the books we could easily go to second or even into first place - depending on who we buy in the coming weeks...
