Just the type of player that Roy should be able to get the best out of. Hopefully will prove an able replacement for Torres....now we only need replacements for Gerrard, Masch, Kuyt, etc...

Its good the Lad has finally irrefutably come out and nailed his colours to the mast
I think he could be key in the season to come... especially if we lose the players we suspect will be off    ???

I always assumed Baros had a problem with his neck and was unable to lift his head when running with the ball.  :D

On the official website now, confirmed signing.

"Liverpool Football Club today confirmed the signing of Serbia international Milan Jovanovic.

The 29-year-old forward was one of Serbia's star performers at the World Cup, scoring the winner in a shock win over Germany. He penned a three-year deal at Melwood today before meeting some of his new teammates.

He said: "It is an honour for me to sign for one of the biggest clubs in football.

"I cannot wait to start working with the manager and I'm looking forward to joining up with my new teammates on our Swiss training camp."

When you've f.uck all money, you have to be smart and try to sign decent experienced players for cheap.

Maxi, the Greek and now jovanovic must of cost us a combined total of 2 million   :D    Not bad business though.

FWIW BBC report that he is 28.

He turned down Real Madrid last year fearing a lack of first team chances.

Karim Benzema wasn't so sensible.

I'm a big believer in irony, fate and all that old b0ll0cks, and it would be the extreme irony if the previous managements last signing before they fecked him off turned out to be his best for years. Hopefully that's the case here, he looked OK if not startling in the World Cup, but you could say the same about some better players than him. Good luck to the lad, he seems like a bit of a nutcase to me but every club needs a couple of those.

Its a good signing and sensible business. I guess you can get lazy with money to spend but when you have to really search you actually find terrific deals and this could turn out to be a real coup. Lets face it he wont be an expensive flop if it doesnt work out. If he can show show the same commitment as his Serb team mate Vidic then he has a great chance to do well as often temprament seems to be an issue with his countrymen but certainly not ability. Get the attitude right, give the lad games to get going and he will be ok. In the past we have wrapped new signings in cotton wool and not put them straight in but fek that anymore, get this boy on the park so he show us what he can do and settle in quickly. No faffing about with all this settling in and adjustment malarky.
