eer...basically you give direction...

Come to think of it, who is our current director of football? If we can function without one, this must be the saddest excuse to tell someone you are fu{ked !

The Director of football will be responsible for players buying and selling, players contract and academy. GH must be the least qualified person to take up this role.

Houillier has taken the club as far as he can, and he has clearly not been all there since his heart operation - playing Heskey repeatedly instead of Baros, sticking with Diouf, letting Owen take the penalties despite a 60% strike rate are just some of the blunders that he has committed since the end of the 2001-2002 season. I think that this incompetence has rubbed off on a number of players and has affected them psychologically. We need a fresh, energetic and up and coming achiever like Martin O'Neill to now take us to the next level, and we should all thank GH for some great highlights and a taste of the glory days again.

I find the Gerrard story hard to believe.

Earlier this season he said he would seriously consider his position at the club if Houllier was given the sack.

However, I have a feeling that Houllier is about to be let go.

The rumours are really building now and normally the club is quick to dismiss them. I think there is now a better than even chance that Houllier will be sacked next week.

Neither the club nor Houllier himself have made any comments to distance themselves from this rumour (meaning there is some truth to it) and GH have only say he will continue business as usual (sounded very much like a dead man walking!).

Gerrard have already given the club his ultimatum...either match his ambition or (god forbid) he will go find it somewhere else. As a player and leader of the pack, he knows very well we need at least 3 good signings (a striker, a central defender and a right side midfielder? but no mention of change in manager) this close season otherwise there will be no shortage of serious money coming to grab him and Owen. If that happens, we are in deep ****** and have to start years of rebuilding. I think the board sees it and are taking action to address the players' and fans' unrest.

Give Moores and Perry sometime to find and sign up the replacement. The UEFA Cup final only ended yesterday :;):  :;):
