Diao - Dont be surprised when......

Don't be surprised when he starts playing well for Birmingham. Their style is totally different to ours, they are much more 'up and at em' and ball retention is much lower on their priority list than it is for us. Those who think Bruce must be mad are wrong in my view, he has the ability to become a good ball winning midfield-player (as long as you're not too concerned what he does with it once he's won it). Also he's like as not going to play regularly so please, if and when he starts playing well, can we refrain from the two following emotions,
1. Can we have him back? (I'm not kidding!) he's only on loan, now he's shown what he can do etc etc etc.
2. How come rafa didn't get him to play like that? If we'd known he could run the midfield like he does for them and blah blah blah.
Sometimes when a bloke starts to play OK its hard to remember why you sold him in the first place. Before long people want him back but nine times out of ten the reason remains. You all know which ex-player of ours I'm talking about.

I think you could be on to something BigM
Wouldn't suprise me in the least - if he turned out to be one of their most influential players
On top of what you've already said - I do think some players (for whatever reason) have to be playing with confidence in order to get anything like the best out of them
If he starts gettin a good run in the team, in his preferred position and has old Brucey putting an arm round his shoulder (ooh er) now and again
I'm convinced he will look like a different player
But your right - different styles etc
Some players are right for one team & not for another

Not Diouf is it, Mick? ???

I'm not convinced by Diouf because he's had a good fortnight.  Bolton can have him.
