I just read something that basically made me fall off my seat (apart from the 8 cans of stella) :D

Ok are you sitting comfortably ? Here it is...

We have played more games this season that any other side in Europe.

This is absolutely 100% fact.

How is this possible? I hear you all cry..

Well -

Premiership - 23 games
Carling Cup - 4 games
Champions league - 8 games (including two qualifying matches)

35 matches already this season -

It could end up being something like 70!

We are also set to extend this strange record tomorrow night.

Anyone surprised ? Pleased ?  ???

united and chelsea are only a game behind us, they`ve played an f.a cup match where ours was cancelled.
its always a good sign to play plenty of games, it usually means your doing well on all fronts.
in the eighties we regulary played 70 + games and with a smaller squad too.

haha wow interesting stat!
but not actually too surprising when you read the facts!

Anyone know how many games we played in our treble winning season? Must have been a lot

70 games in one season is a hefty amount, but a sign of success!
I'm sure Raul played 75 games in one season for Real although think that maybe included internationals

And more games to come aswell in the space of days :Oo:

Charlton's Premiership match against Liverpool at The Valley will take place as previously scheduled on Tuesday, February 1st (8pm) following a U-turn by Merseyside police. It was thought that the game would have to be put back by 24 hours should the Anfield side beat Burnley in their rearranged FA Cup third-round tie.

This was due to the fact that their potential fourth-round home match against AFC Bournemouth would have needed to take place on Sunday, January 30th - just 48 hours before the planned fixture against the Addicks - to avoid a clash with Everton's match against Sunderland, also at home.

Merseyside police usually insist the city's two sides play home matches on different days, but Charlton have now been told that Liverpool's match against AFC Bournemouth could be played on the night of Friday, January 28th.

If a replay of the third-round match against Burnley is required, that would also be played on the Friday night, meaning the Addicks' Valley league clash with the Reds remains unaffected.

No Man Utd didn't play CL qualifiers as far as I know. Only fourth spot teams play CL qualifiers.

Er, Mike, you may need to fiddle some of your figures a bit.

Is it not the case that Man UTD have played one game more, that being the FA Cup game against Exeter?

So, it's justified that we need more healthy and not-injured player ??
