if it did happen it would be great, making use of two useless players. He's a good finisher and and i think he would link up well with baros.

We might push it more if we don't Morientes, which incidentally I think we wil. We don't need both of them, and AJ will be overpriced given his recent excellent form.

I think most of this is just press talk cos they havent got a clue who Rafas after so they link us with every forward in Europe at the mo. :D  :D

SALTROCK  i think you are right about that, Raffa really does keep his cards close to his chest  and the  sports  pundits can only speculate............may be a grain of truth

i imagine its another rumour about it being definite, but there's normally no smoke without fire - or at least a little smouldering. and who would doubt the words of a chauffer?

i wouldn't be opposed to him coming as a squad player in exchange for diao. i'd much rather see the word 'johnson' on the team sheet than the word 'diao' any day of the week.

Yeah purely world class Andy Johnson. Recognised throughout europe as one of the best around.

Get real. He's a good player at best. :)

totally expected that reaction from you stu. but i don't think you'd disagree that it would be better to have johnson in the side as a squad player than diao - if thats what the deal is.

and when did anyone say he was bl.oody world class?

It would be better to have Johnson than Diao?

Yeah maybe, and it would be better to have Anelka and Morientes than Johnson.

Johnson would cost stupid money. Probably similar to Anelka, you tell me who's the better player?

Palace aren't stupid enough to let Johnson go yet either, and for Diao? pfft yeah right. Sell Diao (if we can) then put that money towards Nico.

of course it would be better to have anelka and morientes.

but if we can't get them both are we not sensible for looking at other decent prospects? keeping the options open?

who's the better player? anelka - no-one disputes that.

johnson would cost stupid money? the proposed deal is (allegedly) diao and henchoz and a small fee.

and how much would we get for diao anyway? nobodies even enquiring about him. no-ones interested in buying the guy.

i'm sure palace value johnson highly but they probably realise that having two more experienced players in their side might be better for their chances of survival this season.

i still maintain that i think its a reasonable bit of business and a reasonably good idea if we don't succeed in our main targets.
