Injuries........here we go again.

Steve Finnan has suffered a gashed leg during Liverpool's game with Southampton.

The Irish international had to leave the field during the first half and needed eight stitches to the wound.

He will definitely miss Liverpool's home game with Chelsea on New Year's Day and faces up to two weeks on the sidelines.

Now with both Finnan and Josemi injured we can only hope that Diao won't be the replacement against Chelsea.

This is why I'm so thankful that we have Didi Hamann who is a great defencive shield for our back four.

I pray it carragher with traore taking his place in defense, although we might need traore's pace on the left back to stop duff
