Eire manager Brian Kerr tells todays Irish times that Damien Duff will join only one club in January if Chelsea decide to offload the player.
Kerr said he'd spoken to Duff last week during the international break & the player wanted "only" to leave Chelsea if Liverpool was his destination. Apparently Duff followed Liverpool as a child & before Chelsea signed him "believed" Liverpool was his next club.

damien duff would have been at liverpool two years ago if houllier had just offered what blackburn were demanding at the time. 17m might sound like a lot of money but it's not if the player produces what he is capable of on the pitch.

Rafa won't buy Duff as he doesn't like spending stupid money and Chelsea won't let him go cheap, he'd only leave for £14m plus imo :(

I know Warnock isn't in Duff's league YET but I'd give him a chance as he is still young and with a season of good first team performance for LFC he will really improve, I think with Kewells case it was 'you pay peanuts you get monkeys' :D

Kewell cost £5m which I don't consider peanuts, Duff is class.

Where the ****** is "Eire?", this Irish man has never heard anyone refer to such a place? ?????

Signing Duff would be a great deal, he is one of the players that we need on our squad. Kewell is not getting the job done and needs to get the boot from Rafa.

Kewell cost us £3.5m which is why the Leeds fans went mad, also £3.5m for Kewell's was considered a snip  ???

There wasnt many complaints at the time and I reckon we could probably offload him for that price if we wanted to but IMO we need a stronger squad and pressure on him.

Duff woukd be a hell of a signing but hes also been in the papers going on about his love for Chelsea could this be games to say I wanna be picked more

What kind of Irishman are you? Eire's the real name for the Republic of Ireland.

As for Duff, he's a wonderful player that would be in my top 11 throughout the Premiership, let alone for Chelsea. If the opportunity came up again, he'd be a stunning buy. If nothing else, the £17m we didn't pay for him looks cheap next to the £14m we did fork out for Cisse.

He's been playing regularly under Maurinho and hea generally been playing well. He won't come cheap.
