Alonso showed the art of passing was not a lost art at Anfield. It was 65 minutes of sheer delight watching the man spread the ball around the pitch.....m-o-m without a doubt.

Cant argue with that SS, although I thought Igor pushed him hard for MOM.

Alonso is the buy of the season, pure, undiluted class.  and only 22 (or 23 ???).

Esp in the 1st half when he was controlling all our attacking play. His passing is so accurate, it is unbelievable. Looks like we have finally found our play maker  :D

now we know why Real wanted him

I don't think real was that serious in buying him. I think real likes to buy players who are marketable instead of those who are talented. No wonder, they have more established forwards than defenders in their team.

Agreed

I think it was a very shrewd buy on Benitez's behalf.  He's showed what a class player he is with his silky, accurate passing almost every game so far, and like The_rock said, he's charismatic and so is marketable, especially to Cisses_gonnna_get_ya and Zarabe  :;):  :;):  :p

They lost again tonight, and they were absolutely awful.

You can have all the talent you want (and they have), but if theres no direction, no understanding and no leadership, your still going to get hammered.

I think Rafa understands that.
