With Souness gone to the Barcodes, he may be tempted to take Brad Friedel with him. I know Friedel's getting on a bit, but he's still one of the best keepers in the league. (Another one we let through the net.) If he did, Given would be out of his number one spot at St James's.

Given (scuse the pun) that Dudek is a lost cause and that Kirkland's future is still uncertain cos of his injuries, would it be worth picking up Given? To me, he's been a quality keeper behind a ****** defence for years now.

Might be a mid-term solution

If it was possible then yes, I'd replace Dudek with him today, but I can't see it, Friedel is contracted to Blackburn, and as such can not leave until January anyway.

If Bruno Cheyrou scores two goals past you in one game then you should really think about hanging up your gloves. Shame Given is his new name.

No, we don't need a keeper, and if we did I'd rather opt for Canizares if he's still at Valencia with his contract running out.

Valencia won't do business with Liverpool as we still in their bad books after the Benitez appointment

I do think Given is a very good keeper, even better would be Cudicini :;):
