How do you think Finnan did in midfield? he looked comforatble but would need to get used to playing there, I think he could have taken their defender on more and whipped crosses in.

I believe that Finnan did great. I believe that given a chance of getting to know Josemi`s way of playing a bit better, they could help eatchother taking on the defender. Both free kicks and cornerkicks were great :)  :)

I'm not convinced yet. He did okay and a couple of good crosses from dead balls but nothing special

I Thought that finnans delivery from set pieces was great although i would have like to see him attack his full back more. it's early days though. Maybe the player to solve to our right side problem has been under our noses all along. ???  :)

i thought that he looked decidedly average to be honest......I also thought Kewell performed as poorly as he did most of last season. I hardly remember seeing him in the second half

I was just asking a related question in the other thread, just to make myself sure, was it Josemi or Finnan playing on the mid?

I think that yesterdays performance showed that he is capable of solving our problem at least on a short term, so in my opinion that Rafa has made himself time to search for and find the one perfect as a right midfielder and as an asset to the squad "teamplayerwise". Better off using an extra 14 days to find the right one instead of rushing into something.

Finnan did very well.  I don't think he is the ultimate answer to our right midfield problem, but for certain games, (e.g away europan fixtures), Benitez may use him as his defensive qualities give Josemi additional cover.

Finnan can play right back, left back and right midfield so I think he will have a valuable contribution to make as a squad player.

Perhaps ,if we get him ,with Xabi Alonso in the team, it makes sence to have a slightly more defensive player in the right of midfield this would give both Alonso and Gerrard more freedom to push on. ???

finnan's actually not a bad crosser of the ball and is comfortable with either foot. however in the long term he is not the answer to our right sided problem. surely benitez has realised that we need a right winger. ???

i agree with diarra finnan playing as a defensive midfielder could work well with gerrard and alonso(if we get him)giving them a permit to attack!

i thought i read somewhere that finnan was on his way to blackburn though ???  is this true or not

i dont think he will be playing there for much longer, he aint a midfielder.

I think it was a temporary thing, seeing as we are light in midfield, and Josemi has just taken his place.
he was OK but i wasnt blown away.

I think finnan is hot favorite to be the next player out of anfield on loan.
