Rafa knowing his squad

People say that Benitez needs to know his squad before he can make his mind up about selling and signing plays but surely he should have watched videos on players know roughly who is good and who is bad?

My main worry is that he will keep a lot of the players and not sign players in the possitions we need like a creative midfielder, one maybe two centres and maybe another striker and give the squad a season to see who is good enough, this way we may not progess much for another year?  ???

I just don't want to miss out on decent players just because Benni leaves it too late?

We needed those players under Houlliers system.

Benni's maybe different. We may not need another centre half. He may play a deep defense with Riise, Hyypia, Henchoz and Carragher... therefore we wouldn't need pace etc.

He's install a system first then decide the type of players we need to perfect it. Thats the best way to do it and Benitez isn't a fool.

Av gotta lotta faith in Benni an am sure ez whatched more than a few videos an stuff. I red in the paper the other day that his wife isn't gettin any sleep coz he keeps talkin bout formations an stuff in his sleep! Reckon he'l probly find an appy medium between some new players an maybe usin some of the talent ez already got but that wz somewhat neglected by GH...

I think we a agree change is needed, but why is it so slow in happening. Its only a few weeks to the start of the season and still no signings by Benni. We seam to be leaving things very late, I find it a little concerning.

You never know - the missing piece of the puzzle in our back four could well turn out to be a manager that knows how to use what he's got. I'd personally play Carra alongside Hyypia, with Riise and either Finnan or Otsemobor on the right. The problem we had last season was that chancers like Traore, Biscan and Diao were in and out of the side, and we never really got a regular back four even when Carra and Finnan were fit again.

Benitez isn't stupid - he'll want to see if a change of manager has a positive effect on underachieving squad players before looking for replacements, and then almost certainly make one or two additions before the window closes.

I sense panic creeping in my fellow reds. Benitez will know what to do & when to do it. I have trust in this man and he will not dissapoint. Its still early days and i agree i did expect a signing by now but its not time to push the panic buttons. The man only walked into the training ground last week and will be working out his options and who he really needs to sign in the future.

Even if Cisse is the final signing, i would be understandably happy.

1)We have a new stadium coming up.
2)The board were pretty generous the previous seasons (might be finally feeling the pinch now).
3)We have quite a good set of players. We need a pacy centre back but we might have to breakk the bank to get a quality one.

Maybe Liverpool have got the signings lined up already but are just keeping things quite untill definate news instead of being like all these rumour mongers out there !

He may just see what he's got and make a move in January when the window opens again :;):

I have more confidence in Benny as he is a proven winner than Houllier. Leave it to him, although the lack of transfer activity to strengthen the squad in defense and midfield does make me rather nervous.
