We've all been moaning about our teams performance with most of our gripes being aimed at Houllier. Some people retain there faith in Houllier and blame the players.
If Shanks or Paisley were managing this current squad where do you think we would be this season ?
Just a bit of fun, I know it can't happen   :(

Both before my time, but I think Paisley was the better manager, more awareness of how to play in Europe.

anyway first of all, there's no way they would have spent £100m and had that shower of t#s#ers in the squad (ok, there's a few notable exceptions).

Shankley would probably sell about 15 of them (I just don't get the point in Heskey, big stong etc but so is Frank Bruno but I wouldn't want him as a centre forward, Dalglish wasn't a goalscorer but still got about 20 goals a year) on his first day, play the youth (hungry and low wages) while keeping his eye open for the new Kevin Keegan (without the dodgy hair)

shanks would probalbly put half of them on a steak and guiness diet, especially Cheyrou.  Maybe they would want to play for great men like Shanks or Paisley though.  They would never have bought half of them in the first place though.  i imagine if they were around today they would be quite cynical about foreigners in todays game.

Shanks and Paisley wouldnt be offered the Liverpool job these days.Neither of them were "proven" managers.
