LIVERPOOL VS SHANGHAI SHENHUA - Build up/in game/reaction

Tomorrow on SS1. Kick off is 5.30.

We should really be looking to field as close to the side that will be starting against Villa as we can at this stage, if not against Shanghai then certainly against Feyenoord on Sunday.

Does anyone know if Gerrard is fully fit?

Whatever the case, I think we'll pretty much see a mix and match over the two games. Lets hope the strikers can find their scoring boots and net a few before the season starts.

We might be able to catch a glimpse of this leto guy tomorrow as his work permit has come through!

We will play a weaker side tomorrow with plenty of chopping and changing but Feyenoord has to be our starting 11 for the villa game!!

Looking forward to more glimpses of Torres Voronin Babel and Benayoun over the next two friendlies!

I would expect to see Mascherano get his first game with the team in the 07/08 campaign over the weekend, not sure which fringe players we are taking, but I would expect to see Threlfall play some LB, and Hobbs in one of the games, probably El Zhar as well.

im hoping to see us play two strong line-ups over the next two matches and hopefully get two wins.

this isnt the time to mess about with line-ups, 9 days till are first league game and we need to start strong, we make a start like last season when the pre-season was a disaster then it`ll be another year waiting for 19

i'm looking forward to seeing Leiva and Leto in action.

want to see torres get a goal, to give him more confidence.

it'd also be nice for kuyt to score infront of his beloved feyenoord fans.

here's hoping for a comfortable 4-0 win. :D  (with no injuries!)

Obviously with only a week til the start of the season we need to be fielding first team regulars to guarantee they are sharp for Aston Villa. Rafa has to start Crouch in both games IMO, his lack of action in earlier games is a little concerning but starting the remaining two friendlies will address this.

I also expect to see Mascherano involved as he has had time off and needs to reintegrate into the team. Finally I think we need to see some action from Torres - we're all waiting for that first goal and I think if he can get it either tonight or Sunday it will be a little less pressure prior to the next weekend.

Probably wont play tonight mate they are only flying to Holland today, and Rafa isnt to pleased about being in this tournement as it is cause it was part of the Kuyt deal.

The reserve team that beat Shakhtar Donetsk in the Brucon Talents Cup in Amsterdam on Thursday evening:

Liverpool team: David Martin, Stephen Darby, Robbie Threlfall, Jack Hobbs, Aribane Hernandez (trialist), Jay Spearing, Ryan Crowther, Ryan Flynn, Craig Lindfield (Jordy Brouwer 75), Andras Simon, Ray Putterill (Besian Idrizaj 45).

Probably safe to say that we wont see Threlfall, Lindfield, or Besian (and everybody else) feature tonight. Notables missing: El Zhar, Insua, Palletta
