Who should take our penalties? - Is owen reliable enough?

I havent seen any stats on it but it seems to me that Michael Owen is one of the most unreliable penalty takers around. I cant believe he scores much over 60% of them and if he's been playing badly in the game you just know he's going to miss. I recon he keeps taking them because he wants his goal tally up, and I'm sure Houllier would choose someone else if he wasn't so desperate to keep Owen at the club and confident.
Danny Murphy always seems reliable but he hasn't started much this season.
Do people agree that someone else should be given the responsibility, and if so who?

My top vote have to be Danny Murphy, but if he is not in the first 11, so I like to see Steve Gerrard or Harry Kewell to give it a try to take the penalty, what do you reckon, lads?

Definitely not MO he's had his chance and his record on peno's is below par for a player of his ability, Let Stevie SMASH 'em in !  :D

It's either Stevie or Kewell. Perhaps Liverpool should let Heskey takes penalties because if he scores, he would remember where the opposition goal posts are and what it is like to score. But then, he may fall on his famed backside during the run-up to kicking the ball from the penalty spot...

Murphy - yes, but I'm not sure he's good enough to be in the team, certainly if we want to win the title

Gerrard - possibly the pick of the options, certainly a capable striker of the ball

Kewell - not a bad option, has been known to hit the ball sweetly

Hamann - wouldn't be the worst choice, certainly an option at free-kicks

Riise - if he could get in the XI maybe

Baros - not sure but worth a try

Owen has an awful record and should never take another panalty. Just look at his face when he steps up. He seems so afraid and uncertain. Murphy is not good enough to play so my 1st choice is Hamann. He has a cool head and is a natural part of the first 11.
