Deals can be signed, but I'm sure registrations are only allowed to be changed during the transfer windows, which are, if I am not mistaken, June 1st until 2 weeks after the season starts, and 1st  to 31st of Jan.

It's collaborated with the whole of Europe, so it won't open when our season finishes as Spain at least play later than us.

Lando you are spot on.

Murph even though there has been a press conference for AJ at neverton etc. He has not officially joined them. It exactly the same as a team signing someone in the middle of February, yes they have signed him but the player cannot play for them until the transfer window re-opens.

The case it different for players like Ballack because his contract with Bayern had expired. You can sign players without contracts when the transfer window is not open e.g. Ronny Johnson signed for Newcastle mid october because he had no club contract.

Gabriel Alejandro Paletta (born 15 February 1986) is an Argentinian central defender, who will join Liverpool FC in the summer of 2006 from Club Atlético Banfield. He will be the second Argentinian to play for Liverpool, after Mauricio Pellegrino. Paletta is considered to be the next great central defender in a long, proud lineage containing such players as Roberto Ayala and Jose-Luis Brown. Liverpool FC saw off competition for this signature from esteemed Argentinian team, River Plate.
