It makes you ask the question, is it more to do with the quality of the ball we are currently supplying him? Joe Cole's ball into the box was brilliant, whipped in with curl and pace. Do we have anyone who can do that?
SWP also played brilliant, and I would love to see him join us oin the summer. Again the ball he played into Cole for the winning goal was class!

Was there any reason given for his shirt number?
I watched the game on ESPN, only once did the commentators slightly refer to the reception Gary Neville got everytime he tuched the ball. Could hear the crowd and in the closeups you could see them giving it to him but that
Tommy Smyth prattled on about the 3 lions giving him diplomatic immunity at Anfield. The crowd only went quiet when his was given the captains armband. Although I'm pretty sure that was because it was late in the game and noone could be bothered to boo him. Rio had another lazy performance as usual.
