From the official site

Fernando Morientes believes Liverpool can still catch Chelsea and mount a serious title challenge this season.
The Reds go into tomorrow's clash with Portsmouth 15 points behind the Londoners with two games in hand.

With two successive Premiership wins behind them, and qualification for the next phase of the Champions League just one point away, Morientes is confident the Reds are running into the sort of form which will see them climb up the table over the coming weeks.

"We do have two games in hand on Chelsea and if we win those we'll be within nine points of them, which is only three results," he told Icons.com. "I believe we can catch them and that we will do. We will win the title.

"We didn't begin the season too well but that's not the most important thing. It's how we do from now on that counts and we're looking forward to finishing the season strongly. It's taken longer than we'd hoped to find our best form but we are arriving there now.

"We have to win at home to Portsmouth, it's as simple as that. It won't be an easy match, though, because I see them as a dangerous side. Portsmouth may not be enjoying a good season so far but on their day they can be very dangerous."

I dont know what he has been drinking or smoking but i could do with some

If we win every single game from here on (100%) then maybe we could catch them.

I disagree....champions league place  whether that is 3rd or 4th is achievable.......but champions....nahh not this year.

Even though i'm in the camp that dont think we will win it this year, it is great to have players with this attitude

I do love blind optimism.

Well, with the numbers in the hand, it has happened more than once to cut a 9 points difference, perhaps we're esceptical because we haven't seen our best until recently and we've seen them very secure, but it has happened before, more than once.

Well Chesea are playing Newcastle next aren't they? Maybe Owen can punish them a bit.

Love the optimism of Moro, he's always very positive, and thats what you want from the players. It's no good coming out and saying "We're :censored:, we have no chance of winning the league".

Come on lads!!!  Why can't we catch them?
LIke he says, we win the games in hand, we're only 9 points behind. All it takes is a slumb by Chelsea and it's over. Come on, have a bit of faith! :D
