Liverpool have confirmed the signings of two young starlet defenders Godwin Antwi and Miquel Roque who are set for debuts for the reserves against Everton at Wrexham on Tuesday night.
Roque is a 17-year-old centre half from Spain and has been signed from Spanish second division side Lleida.

Godwin Antwi, also 17, was born in Ghana and has been signed from Real Zaragoza. He is a strong and powerful centre half who can also play in midfield.

Both players will be based at Melwood, and the pair along with right back Antonio Barragan, and centre half Jack Hobbs are also expected to be in the Reds reserve team for the mini derby.

Liverpool have now made eight signings so far in the summer of 2005. They are Pepe Reina, Bolo Zenden, Peter Crouch, Momo Sissoko, Antonio Barragan, Jack Hobbs, Miquel Roque and Godwin Antwi. The Reds efforts to sign Chile starlet Mark Gonzalez has ended for the time being because a work permit was refused for the player.

The reserve mini derby is the first match of the season for Liverpool's second string and kicks-off at 7pm at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground on Tuesday.

What do you think? Does anyone know anything about them?
I haven't really heard of them before so I'm just gonna say I hope Rafa moulds them into 2 more quality young players :nod

Ive heard a lot about Roque but not the other one.

All these new young signings like barragan, roque, antwi. hobbs and also sissoko should set us up well for the future.

Why do you follow Spanish 2nd Devision football ?
I havent seen or heard anything of these two, but its good that we are bringing in young promising players, Wenger has done brilliantly doing the same.

When he says hes heard a lot about roque hes probably just talking about the the rumours of us being linked with him earlier in the summer.

Good to hear this, looks like Rafa's here for the long haul and wants to lay a good foundation for the future, the youth system hasn't really produced lately.

Glad to see Rafa expanding the scouting network and hopefully getting us some top youngsters in like Wenger has done so well in the past

Has anyone actually seen any of these guys play yet (apart from Barragan obviously)? I'd be interested to hear what they're like

definately not.
these signings are probally gonna be playing for the reserves most of the season and will play no real part in the premiership, champions league,etc.
