The nerves are tingling already. Everyone wants to sign the big players, yesterday.
Don't forget, last week was international week, so anyone we would hope to sign would, hopefully, be playing in their national team.
At the end of a long season.
Now the majority will be on holiday and want a few days to just chill, like we all do at holiday time. The fact rafa took is hollies a week before everyone, and is now back in work should tell youse something.

The work will be going on behind the scenes. Rafa will never be held to ransom.
He'll be building a squad first, cos we never had a great squad. That takes time.
Next year is one to soon for me for winning the title. Really hope I'm wrong, but just felt this club was always a 5 year job for a good manager and 7 for a mediocre one.
I believe we got a good manager.
4 finals in 3 years suggests better than good.
But he knows what his job description was when he came, otherwise why would he?

As for the new owners, forget the sound bites, they mean eff all till there backed up.
I think they'll have to be or the warm welcome will turn bitterly cold very very quickly.
And they must have known that before they signed the deal.

stop effing having a baby just cos we haven't signed players yet!! u'd think it was august already!!!
do you honestly think rafa and co aren't putting in the work??? he isn't the last one to leave every day for nothing either. wat sabre said about the media is perfectly true.... hit or miss!!

I see the points a lot of you are making about it being early days and that things must be going on out of the public eye, and I hope to God that you're right and that we are working on some seriously big names. The reason I was already growing a bit anxious was that United and Chelsea don't need to make any big name signings since they have squads already which are capable of mounting a serious title challenge. We don't as yet, so I was hoping we'd spend big before them...

If they are proven yes but we are past the point of dabbing into other leagues on the chance that they may turn out good.

I know its early but ...

I dont want lightning to strike twice, I remember last season everyone saying " chill, we've got all summer yet"

Like I said before, the quicker the targets are signed up the better, to get them intergrated into the city, the team and to get a good pre-season under there belt. It will make all the difference come the start of the season.

P.S if Parry has got anything to do with contracts and signings and what not, I cant imagine him sitting on his hands but rather more on a beach, the seemingly useless clown.

The fact that it's quiet does not bother me. Yes (like every year) we are being linked with every man and his dog but I am pleased that Parry and/or Rafa have not come out and either confirmed or denied interest in any of the players we've been linked with. Nor has there been any murmers of dis-satisfaction amongst the LFC ranks. This tells me that we are going about our business in a quiet, professional manner and that things are under control. I remember 2-3 years ago when it was all quiet and then *BANG* SSN announced that we'd signed 3-4 internationals (Xabi, Garcia, Reina etc)!! Man Utd did the same recently with Nani and Anderson!!

We all want to see new faces and super signings but these things take time and just because our reps are not all over the press saying we want X,Y and Z doesnt meant that we are not making massive strides towards signing new players. I wait in confidence that we'll sign and sign quality. Maybe not today or tomorrow but soon.
