IMHO opinion, why buy Defoe when you've got Flo?  I don't see a place in a Benitez squad for two players so similar.  Maybe you could argue that Defoe being English is an advantage, but that isn't worth £millions.

But what about Morientes and Cisse who in fairness Defoe is 10 times better than, i dont see him replacing Flo, i think it will be one of these 2 and he is nothing like Pongo at all.

I could be wrong, but one thing Rafa ALWAYS says about signings is that they give him options or something different.  I think Defoe's style of play is similar to Flo's.  I can possibly see him replacing Cisse, but I've got the impression that Cisse isn't going.  I can't see Nando going at this stage either, unless we get a very good offer.

Time will tell.

Just heard graverson is in talks with liverpool, this sounds very interesting, why another centrel midfielder, is gerrard staying out wide for the rest of the season, rafa getting another defender in, winger going to wait until the summer when joaquin could be coming, Hamman going graverson taking his place whats going on i wonder i give up!!!!!!!

I have also ready this. Rafa has said though apparently he will only go for him if the price is right. Around 10-12 Million is said to be the price Rafa is willing to pay. However he wont bid in the Jan window as he thinks clubs ask for more at this time but in the Summer is when he will make his move.
