Liverpool in Amazing Shevcenko deal!
Liverpool chief Rick Parry has been back and forth to Milan over the recent weeks in what is sure to be the most astounding move of this January's transfers as he hopes to sign the clinical Shevcenko from A.C. Milan. The Red's chief exec has been told by manager Rafa Benitez to sign a top quality striker and Chairman David Moores has given the deal for the Ukraine international his backing. Liverpool are likely to offer A.C. the chance to sign a former transfer target of theirs, Djimi Traore as well as Zak Whitbread, Anthony Le Tallec and Sinema in order to get a foothold in the deal. It would still cost Liverpool in the region of £5million but everyone agrees that although it's a risk, it's one worth taking.
Shevcenko himself is keen to head for Merseyside and to the team that fantastically knocked Milan out of the Champions League final and with the assurances from Liverpool that his former nemesis Dudek will be heading to Benfica his sights are now believed to be set on winning the premiership trophy with Liverpool this season. Rafa Benitez has refused to comment on the situation by stating "I have a good squad for sure. We look at strengthening, but I prefer to talk about the team right now" although he has been spotted in a Liverpool bookshop buying an English-Ukrainian dictionary/phrasebook. Other targets including Arsenal's Thierry Henry, Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o and Real Madrid's Ronaldo are all said to be devistated with the prospect of not getting a phone call from Parry and Henry has even resorted to signing a new contract with the gunners in despiration.
Shevcenko will be cup-tied in Europe but with an already starstudded squad (thought of as the best in the world by at least half of Liverpool) Liverpool will not be found wanting. And with this deal taking place over the next couple of weeks, expect to see more signings of the like at LIverpool soon.
(I know it's only a bit of boredom enduced fun, but it ain't half nice to dream!)
Liverpool are ready to offer £2m plus striker Neil Mellor for midfielder Dean Whitehead. (Star)

The Black Cats were made to pay £150,000 for him by a tribunal, and it turned out to be money well spent as he went on to play a huge role in their promotion season, scoring five times in 39 appearances."
He'll be 24 later this month. Doesn't sound to me like he's Liverpool class, but I've never seen him play.

What is certain is that he played for Benfica in their league match today and that if they were getting ready to sell hikm to LFC they certainly wouldn't have played him (especially as he was making a comeback form injury) . FACT: he is NOT coming to join us!!! Get used to it!! That's why we are trying to sign this Costa Rican guy from Sasprissa (FACT)

Bolanos completed his trial, whether we'll sign him or not, nobody knows yet. However, if we do sign him I doubt that a player from a Costa Rican' team will be our 1st choice right winger.
If anything he will be a back up and we can afford to buy a right winger and a back up for him because Bolanos would cost peanuts.

Wonder how many players we will be associated with!
