Wouldn't touch Lugano with a barge pole - dirty, cheating (and :censored:) Uruguyan.  His kind of game would be liability in the premier league. He'd be continually giving away free kicks and there's more than enough dead ball specialists in England to take advantage of that!

Well hes a wonderkid and his value shot up to 6 mil after the first season, replacing big sammi :D

But in seriousness, if we do get him, he'll be a great signing. I haven't seen many games of him, but in the ones i have he looks a composed defender and is decent in the air too.

Lugano on the other hand is :censored: in FM, but I wouldn't be too unhappy if we signed him, albeit he wasn't too flash against us

Rumour has it, Stevie G said on radio interview that he was excited about the january Sales, as one of his "freinds" was coming to Anfield.

does this mean the return of a certain Michael Owen, and the exit of Cisse I wonder ?

Only a rumour as yet.

Liverpool eye Whitehead
SPECULATION over the future of Dean Whitehead has begun ahead of the January transfer window, with European Champions Liverpool being linked with the former Oxford United player.
The midfielder has been Sunderland's star performer this season and it would have been a surprise not to see him involved in talk of a possible move.
But the player signed a new and improved contract last month and Mick McCarthy will want to hold on to a player who has been one of the few bright lights in a miserable season.
Whitehead's outstanding performances for Sunderland over the course of the current campaign have not gone unnoticed by Premiership opposition and both Liverpool and Manchester United were rumoured to be tracking him.
But speculation in Liverpool's interest intensified over the weekend with Rafa Benitez said to be readying a bid which could be as high as £4million for the services of the 23-year-old.
It might seem an unlikely scenario on the face of it with Whitehead still a relative unknown at a basement club and with Liverpool boasting one of the best squads in Europe.

didn't even know we were supposed to be interested in him but..............

Teenage centre back Nedum Onuoha is flattered by reports linking him with a move to Liverpool, but says he has no intention of turning his back on Manchester City.

The 19-year-old has earned rave reviews for City's reserves, but has found his route to the first team at Eastlands blocked by the stocky figure of Danny Mills.

Onuoha is reported to have been scouted by Liverpool this term and although he is behind Mills in the pecking order, the defender has no plans to walk out on Stuart Pearce's side.

"There were reports that Liverpool were watching me, but I can only say I know nothing more about it," said Onuoha. "Obviously if it's true then it's flattering.

"I would be flattered by interest from the European champions. But that's not to say I have any intention of leaving City.

"I'm very happy here, I learned my trade here and I feel very much part of Manchester City."

My source is from none other than, wait for it. ..................

A lad by the name of whitbread, went on loan to millwall, a mate of mine who supports millwall was told saturday at the game, that whitbread will move there perminately in january as negotiations are at an advanced stage for kompany, His agent kompany has declared that his player is very keen on a move to the european champions and feels will get regular football by choosing to go there. This is what whitbread agent has told him and this is what is going around the club down south.....Things sound very good, just posting what my mate has told me.

One of our targets has joined Borussia

Ajax midfielder Steven Pienaar has agreed to join Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund at the end of the current season.

BVB executive chairman Hans-Joachim Watzke confirmed on Monday that the 23-year-old had agreed a three-year deal with the 1997 European champions.

"He will definitely be coming in the summer at the latest," he told Kicker.

Dortmund will now reportedly await the outcome of negotiations with Atletico Madrid over the future of Czech midfielder Tomas Rosicky and bring Pienaar to the Westfalenstadion during the winter transfer window, should the Spanish side meet the Schwarz-Gelben's €13 million (£8.8 million) asking price for the playmaker.

Pienaar made it clear that he would not sign a new deal at Ajax and they may well accept an offer from BVB in January if the Germans free up some funds.

A clutch of teams had expressed interest in signing Pienaar, including Manchester City, but the South African's preference was always to head to Dortmund.

reinafromspaina, I wonder if this player your talking about could be guti, good friend of stevie's by all account spanish connections and i've seen today we are linked with a madrid player from teletext 511. With simao now looking a doubt, good money being spent on KOMPANY, guti could be a cheaper option to fill the right side............

Guti, we were linked with him in the summer. Don't see why we need him. He's a verstile player but he's no right winger, so we might as well stick with Gerrard on the flank.
