Feyenoord striker Dirk Kuyt is poised to finally decide his future after being linked with a move to Liverpool.

Kuyt, 25, has asked for time off to make a final decision on whether to quit the club, and recently revealed Liverpool had made an approach.

Holland's £10m-rated World Cup star has also been a target for Newcastle.

He told Dutch sports paper AD Sportwereld: "I have an arrangement with coach Erwin Koeman that I can take some days to think about my future."

Liverpool's move for Kuyt appears to depend on whether they can clinch a deal for Sevilla's Brazilian right-sided player Daniel Alves.

Sevilla are demanding £12m, which would virtually exhaust manager Rafael Benitez's transfer budget.

If he pulls out of a move and switches attention to Birmingham City's Jermaine Pennant, he could then have enough cash to fund a move for Kuyt.

Kuyt said recently: "The Feyenoord president has informed me of a new approach from last year's European champions.

"I am happy at Feyenoord but would like to play in the Premier League."

He added: "Last year that was close to happening so for now I prefer to concentrate only on the World Cup because my hopes could be soured again."

The Dutchman, who is under contract until 2009, has scored 71 goals in 101 games for Feyenoord but has consistently been priced out of a move by his club.

He said: "It is out of my hands. I have several opportunities but it is now down to Feyenoord."

The forward began his career at FC Utrecht in 1998 before moving to Feyenoord in 2003.

Oh God no! No no no! Anyway, that was from bbc site.

the quotes from the end of the story are old, he said that while he was at the world cup  :;):

We might get Alves but I doubt Kuyt will join.

"Tottenham closing in on Duff deal

Tottenham are close to completing the signing of Chelsea's Damien Duff, according to reports."

BBC. No price quoted.

Surely a bit of sabotage is warranted here?

How many left sided players do we need ?

Duff is quality but injury prone and now we have Kewell Gonzales Riise and Zenden more than enough.

11 million as well ? Not for me. :no

Harry Kewell may be going to M. City on a  FREE transfer. I hope there is no truth in this one because I still feel he can do a job for us. I know his wages are high but he showed last season when he is fit he is still a great player. link to story

Its a strange one that, i couldnt see Rafa letting him go for free after giving him a chance last year. Kewell improved alot and unless we are offered a decent amount 3-4 million i wouldnt even consider it.
There are not many clubs that could afford his wages so i cant see him moving  - for now.

I hope your right Ace, because I still think he can play a big part for us, if he can get his mind right and get fit.

Nah he won't go on a free, he will play a big part this season with Gonzo on the left, especially since Zenden is going to play in the centre of midfield :;):

latest rumour is luca toni is heading for Anfield. He would be ideal if true - Hes 6' 5" and scores lots of goals(well he did last year). I never realised he was so tall, I thought about 6'2". I would have thought he was too expensive for us tho' at about £18million.

You better hope Welsh Wizzard doesnt find this thread or RedWolf will get all "gangsta" again.. :D

Top scorer in Italy, but a bit of a late bloomer dont you think??

He's 30.

We seem to have done a 180 here. :D

Two months ago, we were trying to sign a young dutch blonde. Now we're after a black-haired Italian grandfather. What the hell is going on?? :D
