This Barry debacle is slowly developing into another Heinze scenario ,why are Liverpool's transfers so drawn out and usually tinged with animosity .
Its patently obvious Martin O'neil is baring his teeth over this one ,Liverpool should move on unless we intend paying such an exhorbitant amount for a player who at best i rate as very good, but by no means exeptional .

i wouldn't blame him if he did go....unless Rafa has privatly told the lad he wants him to stay, it looks like we are trying to sell Alonso to the highest bidder

To be cynical you could also say Barry is an England 1st choice midfielder (and potential Captain), Lampard is neither.

Also if you buy Lampard you need to extend the club cafeteria by 220 square feet to accomodate his appetite for pies (and construction costs a lot of money)

Exactly MON , knows that barry is the first choice central midfield pairing so much that the chelsea superstar lampard has been dropped in favour of him and hargreaves and carrick out of the squad thus he's using this as ransom to get as much as possible .

What does class do for the team? Does it wins you matches ? Lets look at the bigger picture , class does not win you premier league titles , form does and that what alonso has clearly been lacking for the past 3 seasons .

Of course class counts, im not sayin hes the saviour but we shouldnt be gettin rid of a player with the abilty of Alonso we should be keeping them type of players and adding, Different games suit different players. We want quality running right through the squad not just the first team. AN im not saying Xabi is not a first teamer cause he is imo, But its heartbreakin to see us having to sell a quality player just to buy.

I mean ok Barrys a good player like but i prefer Xabi

Barry hasnt exacly set the world alight an it looks like were the only ones bidding for him,

Sell Crouch (10M) and Riise (5M).

Then Hicks and Gicks need to add 10M.

Once Reina takes Villa's dog hostage and threatens to drown it unless he signs, that should be enough to make the deal happen.

spurs are reportedly bidding 10 million for him and he said he's interested... if we bid the same amount he would surely join us rather than spurs...

to me podolski is a rooney type player... he is comfortable on the ball, can carry the ball, and possesses a fierce left shot, he can make plays as well as come from the deep and score as seen from his goals in euro... if bayern is willing to let him go 10 million will be a bargain IMO for such a young talent...

Even if Podolski said he's interested, so did Barry but villa are still holding out for silly money.

im going 2 put my cap on my LMA Manager players who have never let me down

we bought 2 last sesaon in torres & babel

i think this season we should buy 4 more in Poldolski, Kompany, Borre & Van Der Vaart....with the sale of crouch pennant & riise io think this is possible

then nxt season splash all the cash on Messi
