I hope that the liverpool does not contract Torres because he is the most overvalued played in the spanish league...
here in spain, newspapers says that liverpool will spend about 36 millions euro in Torres...

Heh, look at what he have right here! Another Real Sociedad fan!

Welcome mate, and yes, it's true what they say, the deal is almost  done and some of the local press like Liverpool echo is saying Torres will be playing in Anfield in the very near future.

Yep heard that to Elisha Scott has said it, lets hope we can convince them to get Cisse in the deal I dont want Garcia to leave.
Also ineresting rumours that they will buy Forlan if Torres leaves happy days

This news of £24m for Torres is worrying me, I think it's a mistake if we buy him, the only possitive is that £24m shows LFC are back in the big league and really competing with Man U and Chelsea on the transfer fees, also that we can still attract the big names :)

If Rafa wants Torres I trust his judgement 100%.
Benitez is a footballing genius.Torres has done ok in arguably the best league in the world with an average team.
If he comes you may be pleasantly surprised.

Cisse in the French media says he wants to remain at Marseille as they are in the Champions League.  He wont go to a club like Athletico who aint even in Europe let alone the CL.

I agree, and a just decent goal tally of one season, doesn't mean we won't have a great tally next season. Not every player that eventually has been a success started scoring a lot the first season.

IMHO, sometimes I feel as if people doesn't value Kuyt as he deserves. Pretty much the same feeling for Crouchy, btw.

this is where we meet as well LFC and Sabre...he should perform better next season despite having to adjust his game to Rafa's style

UNITED EYE TORRES
EXCLUSIVE
By Simon Mullock 24/06/2007
MANCHESTER UNITED are ready to launch a renewed bid for Liverpool target Fernando Torres, knowing the Anfield club are struggling to raise the cash for the Atletico Madrid striker.

United's move to land £10millionrated Italian international Fabio Quagliarella looks doomed after Udinese outbid Sampdoria in a tender to secure the striker's services next season.

So Sir Alex Ferguson has turned his attentions back to long-term target Torres, who now looks likely to leave the club he has supported all his life after Atletico failed to qualify for Europe.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez's failed attempt to secure Torres with a bid which included Luis Garcia as a makeweight has alerted United to Atletico's willingness to do business.

But the Spanish club are looking to bank the £27m they inserted as a get-out clause when Torres signed a new contract last summer.

That is beyond Benitez's pricerange, even though he has been told Torres would prefer to join Anfield's Spanish contingent rather than move to Old Trafford. United are willing to wait until Atletico's need for cash becomes chronic.

They can raise cash by selling Alan Smith and Giuseppe Rossi, while Louis Saha will also be made available before the end of August if he recovers full fitness after a knee operation.

Ferguson will sell Smith to any club willing to pay £3.5m, while Inter Milan have joined Juventus and Parma in the race to land Rossi.

Trust that red nosed c*nt to try and bollox things up. We will now either have to pay more or lose him to those b@stards. I wasn't that bothered before, but now they are after him again I just want him more  :p

hey.....we should buy alan smith! i like him as a player he is very combative and he can perhaps fill kuyt's role and allow kuyt to play further forward.

Alan smith is overrated big time. Surely its up to the player to go to a club and i really dont think he'd go to ManUre. If he does i'd be quite surprised... but i still think Torres is worth some amount of that 27million, just not all of it.

maybe torres would excel at a better team like liverpool
maybe torres would flop
maybe torres would miss a spot kick on the opening day of the season

cant actually judge any player when he hasnt even played a game for us. diff system etc.
with all the rumours about a new striker....where does that place voronin?
