Dirk kuyt...a done deal? - As above

Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

Lot of speculation the last few days. Prior to the World Cup I heard a lot of good reports about Kuyt but he was disapointing at the WC.

Mmmmm, at the last WC (2002) we spent £10million on a guy that was one of the stars and look what happened to him. This time we might end up spending the same money for one of the WC flops so, Murphy's Law and all that.....................

Agree he didn't look so great but then neither did Ronaldinho! Also he was asked to play a little wider in most of the games plus if he had played a blinder we'd be talking 15mill and we couldn't afford the lad.

The echo link is always the only one I will take any notice of, and reading between the lines, that does not sound as sure as other ones (like the Bellamy stories for example) in terms of he will be here, it seems to say he might come, which is hardly a story is it?

NUFC are prepared to offer Kuyt twice the weekly wage LFC are (around 80-£90 grand p/w)

Thats nuts...talk about desperation!
Dont do it Dirk...look what the football Gods done to poor Michael Owen:)

His agent stated that Kuyt's career has never been about money, thats the players we want!
The player wants to come its up to the clubs now!

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Say's who? Been on the phone to Freddy Shepherd and Rick Parry, have we? :D

LFC are always very cagey about announcing the salaries they offer players. I find it very hard to believe that anyone's bucked that trend in relation to the Kuyt deal.

he  might  woof woof , but  he  would be on a  rotation system with ur strikers  he play every game with us,unless he gets nufc cursed  with injuries, plus he  would get shearers no9 shirt and would be made a instant hero ,as 1 of his quotes says hes a hero at feyenord and he would like to be a hero at his nxt team, and yes we are desperate for a striker cause ameobi is fcuking :censored:, we used to play gd football and that is what we want to get back to,we want to get back to the top part of the table with u lot we dont wanna stay mid table no more,to many rubbish buys have been bought for silly money at sjp and turned out flops

All joking aside matey!

Kuyt has said that he wants Champions League football, this is something NUFC cant offer in the short term.I dont mean to sound like im putting NUFC down as i have a lot of respect, you are passionate supporters and love the game!

It seems to me though that the deal is almost done and Kuyt is on his way(almost)
Feyenord are holding out a bit longer as they are trying to get the most they can for him!
We all know LFC have been busy in transfers this summer and the remainder of funds are not as high as we'd like.
He's gonna be our player though and the most likely course of events is a lump sum from us now plus a few more installments through the coming seasons!

Who can blame Feyenord though??
He's their prized player and they want the maximum they can get!
