Probably - and hopefully - it's :censored: though. Otherwise it will most likely mean the end of our pursuit of him, as I can't see Rafa paying the 12 million Sevilla want. Anyways... it's just another rumour i suppose (hope you guys who claim that it's a cert are right, he looks really exciting from what I've seen of him)

Its probably a load of sh.it, i hope so anyway. Looks like alves is almost here

I for one, MOST CERTAINLY hope so!

This lack of transfer activity for next season is driving me insane!

Sevilla star Daniel Alves has informed the club he would like to move to Liverpool.

The Reds have been chasing the 23-year-old for some time and they have already seen a couple of bids for him rejected by Sevilla.

Sevilla know they face a fight to keep hold of Alves with the likes of Barcelona and Milan also monitoring his situation.

Alves enjoyed a fine season with Sevilla last term helping them win the Uefa Cup and Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has made him one of his top summer transfer targets.

Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has revealed Alves is keen on a move to Liverpool and that they are trying to thrash out a deal for the Brazilian.

"We don't want to sell him but when a player wants to leave you can't force him to stay," said Del Nido.

"He has told us he likes Liverpool's offer though he isn't pressuring us.

"They have come back to us with a new offer but we have rejected it."

Sevilla are believed to be holding out for £12 million for Alves and Liverpool will be hoping they can reach a compromise so that they can bring the versatile performer to Anfield.

Looks like he is on the way  :buttrock

If the lad is coming out and saying he likes Liverpool's offer then that is only a good thing.  No need to pay over the odds and fork out 12 mil, just sit tight for a couple of weeks, hope the player digs his heels in over wanting to come to us and we'll get him for 8-10 at the most.  I hope...

Usually when a player wanted to join a club that are bidding for him he usually joins them, fingers crossed Rafa knows that and he squeezes  sevilla into an £8m deal

Ha ha, very good Goat.

I hope this deal is done and dusted although I wouldn't want us to spend all our transfer kitty on 1 player!!

Today from Teamtalk:

UEFA Cup winners Sevilla claim they have turned down a new offer from Liverpool for defender Daniel Alves.

According to Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido, Liverpool had an offer rejected but came back with a fresh proposal which was also dismissed.

The 23-year-old Brazilian right-back has spent four years with the Spanish club who are reluctant to let Alves leave.

"We are already talking big money but Sevilla don't want to lose the player," said Del Nido.

"What happens when a player wants a change of scenery is that he can't force it.

"Daniel has let the sporting director know that the offer from Liverpool is the most important. But he has not put pressure on us and we don't have a highly strung relationship with him."

So if the transfer window doesn't open till July 1st do you think Rafa
has approached any other players, and how does that affect the Alves deal? ???

I've read on another website that the offer is £12m.  Isn't this a bit steep for a right back?  We only offered around that for Owen didn't we?

I really see him as a winger that can defend like Vicente and not an Orthidox RB.

So that means....he is a wing back...(similar to Cafu)

I haven't seen him play ....but how is his offensive play??

Can he beat defenders and make good crosses??

I hope that he is worth the money...

He could play as an out and out winger but not be exposed as much and help out Riise if needed thats what i mean and also  wingback
