Stockport have agreed a fee for Oldham centre-back Gareth Owen and are now discussing personal terms with the player.
The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at Edgeley Park and captained Jim Gannon's side in the closing weeks of the season.
Owen has publicly expressed his desire to join County on a permanent basis and, with a nominal fee agreed between the clubs, the deal is expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
