Micah richards - He is quality

The Premiership - General Discussion

Postby KRobbo10 » Thu Sep 13, 2007 2:43 pm

Rafa has shown an interest in signing cover for full back as well as someone who can cover as centre back by trying to sign Heinze in the transfer window, so why not put a cheeky bid in for Richards I can imagine that he would cost 20+ mill but in the long run it would be a great buy, the lad is quality and is only 19/20.

I can't imagine man city wanting to sell him but it would be good to test the water before someone like Chelsea come in.

I think only when the lad decides he wants to win things and to do that he has to move on will anyone stand a chance of signing him

Should've gone for him last season ,when it was already obvious to everybody he was a "monster" and city were strapped for cash . No way now with Sven rebuilding City courtesy of the new owners investment will they consider letting him go, and if they did it would have to be for silly money.

Unless the jip with their chairman gets worse, I can't see Man City being a selling club for the next couple of years. They'll throw ridiculous money at him to stay, I reckon.

I would still put a bid in to see if Richards would be tempted.
Just imagine in a couple of years having him and Agger at centre back ...... quality

That would indeed be quality, but as others have already stated, it is also highly unlikely, that City would sell him at present time, unless they were offered stupid money. They are a club on the up, and he himself has recently stated, that he wants to play regularly at this stage of his career to keep himself in the England team (I'm not saying he wouldn't be playing regularly for us, as he is already really good, but so are our other defenders in his position and furthermore Rafa likes to rotate, as we all know :) )

I understand about Man City not wanting to sell him, but they also never wanted to sell SWP.

And look who bought him, what im personally sick of is Chavski and Man U buying these brilliant players, its about time we bought proven talent in the premiership.

would be a good buy, but alas not a chace for at least 2 years i reckon. he will stay at Man City to see whats what! Then he will leave if he feels progress has not been made.

It cant hurt to put a bid in really. He would be a great addition to a great defence. Plus he is only young and is quick and strong

I have just got a feeling chelsea will put a bid in January or in the summer, and it would be good for us to beat them to it.  Also if he did come to us he wouldn't have to move house etc. Which might be a plus for him

Oh right, there was me thinking we have a rumour mill section.

There was me thinking silly season was over.

There was me thinking there is a consensus that the lad is quality.

There was me thinking the lad only recently signed a new contract.

Rumour mill....Its not a discussion about himcoming its a discussion about wanting to sign the player. And contracts dont really mean anything these days.
