Oh I've got no doubt you will mate :D (you seem to be a very big fan as with Bent, and again I'm not knocking you for it in any way rest asure, I just find it a bit funny how often you seem to highlight them two is all :)).

My two pence regarding Mourinho is something which also applies to another discussion elsewhere on here about Ibrahimovic.* Both seem to very much divide opinion in two camps (I know there are also some people in "middle ground" but they seem a minority), in that they are either world-class-awesome or completely-overrated-can't-cut-it-without-money(Mourinho)/on-the-big-stage(Ibrahimovic).

The above is all very black and white imo, and while I won't go further into the Ibrahimovic debate (a very good striker but somewhat behind the best group imo), I won't mind saying Mourinho is a very good manager who could one day prove to be regarded amongst the best of an era (especially if he keeps winning titles of course), even though I personally have quite a disliking for him from his time at Chelsea. He seems to have very good man-management skills (which is where Rafa seems to be lacking) and also takes a lot of the flak for his players (in all fairness Rafa is pretty good at this as well imo), whereas tactically he is pretty sound as well (though I definitely do believe he's a bit inferior to our own Rafa in this particular department of the game).

Where am I going with this (well, I don't quite know myself tbh :D)? I guess I'm just saying that you have people slating him because they simply hate him, and then you have others seemingly going in the complete opposite direction and praising him as if some sort of messiah who can't do much wrong. In my opinion he is very good manager and definitely one of the best around atm, but I would still find it very hard to see him managing our beloved club due to his past antics. This doesn't blind me from the fact that he has done well at other clubs however, and were he to one day manage us** and win us the title (I really hope Rafa succeeds at this though), I guess I wouldn't begrudge him too much :D

*Disclaimer: I'm not saying both are as good or bad as each other at what they do. Merely that the discussions about both seem very alike imo.
**Disclaimer: I'm not in any way saying I want him to replace Rafa, as I still very much have faith in the latter  :)

Good post that Jim. Preferring Rafa to Mourinho is entirely sensible, and I've never had a problem with anybody feeling that way. Contrary to popular myth, I don't 'love Mourinho" myself, or "dream about his orange balls" :D, I merely revisit here when someone gets a bit silly on the main boards.

Thanks mate (if by "Jim" you're referring to me that is :;):).

And I'm quite glad you don't "dream about his orange balls", which in all fairness would be taking your admiration for him a bit too far imho :D

Feck sorry mate, I'd always thought JimCar05 was a strange name as well :D. It wasn't a miss type I'd always thought that was your moniker, sorry bud.

Mind you JamCar05 is no easier to work out come to think of it    ???  :D

No worries mate, it is a pretty daft username tbh . I can't even really remember the (clever?) thought(s) behind it, but I like to think it has become a part of me and thus I can't find it in myself to go change it (and I really can't be bothered either) :D

Oh, and to you Mourinho loving/hating people out there: excuse me for this irrelevant interruption, just look a few posts further up and get your fix regarding "the special one" (or is he really any special at all?)... there, discussion back on track :;):

Poor result for Sampadoria in Serie A at the weekend, drawing away at Lazio 1-1. Unfortunately for them, what had looked like a good set of fixtures for them turned sour. Mourinho's Inter Milan had a tricky away match at fifth place Genoa to negotiate. The game was a day earlier than the Sampadoria match though so Inter had an opportnity to put Sampadoria under pressure if they could get a win.

Getting a win wouldn't be easy though, Genoa came into the match unbeaten at Home, having scored 9 goals in three matches.

Inter won 5-0.

They now lead serie A by a couple of points.

??? It's the Mourinho thread mate. I like to keep people posted as to how he's getting on. There was much misunderstanding when his name first got mentioned on the forum, many people thinking he only had success when it was left for him on a plate, only when he could spend shedloads of cash, only won things at clubs which were certainties etc etc. After a bit of digging much of the mythology got put to bed which was nice.

I haven't actually researched this Summers transfer activity yet now I think of it, but I must as I know GYBS likes to visit here. My suspicion is though that after the Ibrhamovic/Eto player plus cash thing, Inter probably made a significant transfer profit and in all likelyhood probably are in positive teritory since Mourinho arrived.

Anyway as has happened today funnily enough, his name often gets thrown into the mix as a potential replacement for our manager. That happens either when that toolpiece Ballaque wants a bit of headline, or when someone on the forum asks "but who else in the World is there who could possibly match Rafa's achievements?". Over the last three or four years the list might be quite a long one, but for some reason people sometimes mention Mourinho as a possibility.

I don't get involved in discussing him on the main forum, I just keep his record here up to date should people need to check up on it.

Balague was on the radio last night and openly said that had DIC taken over that Mourinho would have been our new manager. I don't think it's any big secret that he'd jump at the chance to manage us in the future should the job become available. Whether he'd want to work for these two clowns is another thing though.

you know what, i'd love to see him here one day. not before benitez has had one more chance to pull us out of the sh!t, but certainly before gerrard hangs his boots up and certainly while torres is still with us.

The thing is, the owners cannot afford to sack Rafa anyway. If he walks, I can't see that happening until next summer at the earliest anyway as the owners will have to find money for re-financing again.

And based on the business model they have, it makes little sense to try to get the most expensive manager on the planet.
