It may be time to go back to discreetly feeling sorry for our sick cousin, patronisingly of course.

The sad thing is some of the Bitters fans who work with me said when they went out of the champions league:

'Its okay Roberts mate, we will just win the UEFA Cup instead coz we are the best team on paper going into it'

Ah well at least they have the Joy of working with a Legend like me :D

Nice one Laza thats a classic.

On a serious note, speedy recovery to Arrteta it was sickening to see him having a fit after that terrible challenge.

O.K. Chaps back to taking the p!ss.

Everton have asked for a couple of their yellow cards to be  recinded.

A UEFA spokesman explained they only count this season, and
wont count in 15 years time when Everton next qualify.

Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta is set to leave hospital on Friday after suffering a fit on the pitch during Thursday's UEFA Cup tie against Dinamo Bucharest.

The Spaniard was clattered to the ground by Mihaita Plesan's crude challenge late in the game at Goodison Park, the Bucharest player appearing to elbow Arteta in the back of the head.

Television pictures showed Arteta's legs shaking uncontrollably as he received extensive treatment before being put in a neck brace and taken off the pitch on a stretcher.

'I spoke to Mikel this morning and he seems okay,' Everton physio Mick Rathbone told the club's website.

'The hospital was planning to give him a CT scan and we expect him to be released at lunchtime.

'When it happened he was dis-orientated but never lost consciousness. These incidents tend to look worse than they are.'

Everton, bottom of the Premier League, won the match 1-0 but lost 5-2 on aggregate to miss out on qualifying for the group stage.

As much as we may depsise Everton, no player deserves that. :(

OK maybe Gary Neville does :D
