I agree completely im a big fan of his but I was very dissapointed with him yesterday, mad to a certain extent.  He just came on and seemed to put it in cruise control for the last 20min.

Yeah, i'm one of Carrolls biggest supporters, but gotta agree. again, I think it's about mental attitude. Yesterdays performance seemed to have an air of "I cost £35m. This is a cameo role". If people here spotted it though I bet Kenny did. Let's hope he gives 'im a slap.

It's possible he was coasting but I think he was just a yard off the pace, mentally and physically.  We played a frenetic, up-tempo, pass and move game all afternoon and the rest of the team was on that wavelength (even at the end, with energy levels dwindling).  The big lad--who isn't the most fleet of foot to begin with--never caught up to that rhythm.  You could see it especially with the Downing cross: on the back foot and not anticipating a ball whipped across at pace.  He had an astonished look on his face right after that clearly indicated that he had no idea Downing would produce that kind of ball.

I have no idea what people want from Big Andy at this stage ...He looks much more game fit then in pre-season ,he wins almost every air battle ,manages to act as a Center passer to the midfield ,over all has a huge presence.

But and this is a huge But if he isn't utilized correctly ,meaning puting him as a lone striker (as in the Arsenal game) ,playing long balls towards him with no support from the wings and the Midfield ,forget about it you just set him to fail.

He just needs games and the goals will come. Christ even Crouch got more time by you lot and he wasn't half the player Carroll is.

KK was absolutely right to drop him yesterday and was vindicated with the result
I saw Bolton play city last week and they could have won, yet we battered them yesterday through sheer attacking football
Lets hope Carroll learns something from watching the performance from the bench and realises that he has to justify his place by doing his job

So far he doesn't look like a goal machine striker like Rush, Fowler, Owen, Torres etc were. The impression I get so far is, he's like a super tanker ie big, slow and clumsy. Just because he cost 35 mill and broke the record for a British player everyone said just give him more time. Time is not a luxury for a team like us challenging for 4th spot and to have with the likes of Man U, City, Chelsea to fight with.  If we had got him for free or less than 10 million, those same guys would most probably be demanding for him to be permanently dropped.

Prolific scorers of Liverpool in the past virtually scored right from their debut match and consistently throughout the season and so far Suarez fits this bill. He scored coming on as a sub against Stoke. And sad to say, we seem to play better without Andy. I noticed our play turned flat and stale when he came on in the Bolton game.

But from a business perspective, buying him was not a loss because the 35 million was not from the club's coffers but scam money from Chelsea. By the way, looks like El Sulko is having more pressure than Andy because he was bought for an overpriced of 50 million.

That's actually a good point from alwayslfc above. If Voronin cost 35mil, would you give him more time too? Does the price tag play a role when you say "give him more time"? Because even though i'm giving him a season before coming to a conclusion in my views, the way i see it, we perform more fluidly and attack with more penetration without Carroll.

I'm afraid he's a Newcastle level striker... Nothing more, nothing less. Someone above said crouch is half the player carroll... To me they are at about the same level and that's coming from not a fan of crouch's. What we need to get the best out of him is this... During a counter attack give him the ball at his feet at about the half way line. He holds up the ball, players like Suarez, kit, downing, meireles runs at the opponents defence. Carroll plays the ball to one of them and they attack to the byline drawing defenders with them. Carroll should be then waiting in the centre near the penalty box. The above attacking players then has a choice of crossing to another attacking player or pull it back to Carroll. With time and space, Carroll should be able to unleash his powerful left shot. What he needs is time and space... We can't ask him to go up top with 3 defenders surrounding him and expect him to bring the ball down...

At the moment we're simply playing much better football without Andy.  He needs to stay on the bench until he can justify a place in the team.

Personally I couldnt give a shiny sh'ite how much he cost. Most, if not all footballers are over-priced and over-paid
I am infinitely more interested in his attitude and his understanding that he is at the best club in the world. I dont trust players who say they dont feel under pressure or that they have nothing to prove. That tells me they are either arrogant and deluded or ignorant and dont appreciate the enormity of the task they face.
Carroll has to wake up quickly to what is expected and needed from him or it will all come down around his ears. His bravado is understandable but if he is not careful he will turn out to be the biggest flop in our history.

Unbelievable. Do you only see what he can't do rather than what he brings to us? There is a reason why fans are just fans and people like Kenny Dalglish is a manager.

Defenders hate playing Andy Carroll coz he is a nightmare to defend against. He causes so many gaps to appear that other players take advantage of.

The biggest problem he is having currently is the rest of the team seem to think everything has to go to his head.  Some of the service he has been given is appauling.

I don't care what he cost, he is a young lad playing for one of the biggest clubs in world football. YOU NEED TO GIVE HIM YOUR SUPPORT. IT'S WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO!

He is a totally different type of player to Suarez, Torres, Owen, Fowler. Why do people try and compare him to them? The closest player I think he is like is Shearer, and if he manages to get to be as good as him, I will be made up.

It's going to take time, but Andy Carroll is going to be a big player for us, don't write him of yet
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

The cries from Gooner fans to Wenger were.. "Arsene, if your short of cash ask Vermaelen - he's got 35Million tucked away in his back pocket".
