Carroll:  making better runs, his positioning and awareness, working on playing the ball faster (loses possession a lot in dangerous positions), and improving his first touch when under pressure

According to Bob aCe, what you've said here is irrelevant because he scored a goal.

He's as slow as mass. £5m player at most. And I know all that :censored: about how we bought at the close of window in a panic.

Suarez was the only decent thing out there tonight. Anyway, its only the League Cup so :censored: it. Expecting a tough game Saturday evening.

wow, just wow

Carolls biggest assets to his game are his powerful shot and his size and strength.

When he hits the ball it's like a rocket and there isn't a defender in the league who isn't in for a handful when a cross comes into the box and he is nearby
What he is never going to do is turn defenders inside out and create chances on his own.
As long as he is provided service from the wings I am positive he'll do fine.

Great to see a positive post from you :)
I have a feeling in my gut that when all the new boys come good (we know Enrique is already there). then it's the sky's the limit for us lot. As Kenny would say, 'I cannae wait'

Quoting Tommy Smith

"It was also great to see Andy Carroll get on the scoresheet and that goal should do him the world of good.

Carroll has come in for a bit of stick so far this season but if I was him I would be having a word with the wide men.

He needs the likes of Stewart Downing and Dirk Kuyt to get to the byline and whip balls over for him to attack.

Too often players are hitting balls towards him down the middle of the pitch and he has defenders all around him."

I think it was very smart and courageous from Kenny to leave out his 35 mill buy from today's squad. Maybe he was just resting him but either way, the team showed better mobility and we weren't looking for a target man every time we were going forward.

Think he was very lazy when he came on and has no one to blame but himself for not even getting close to putting one in the end, there was some quality crosses being put in a few times but he never even bothered to try to get on the end of them.

Think we should give him a full season before turning into Arsenal and Chelsea fans.

Absolutley. As we've stated many times he's only 22. Got Kuyt, Suarez, Dalglish plus many others to learn from, plus his England international team mates. I have no doubt about his ability or his potential. I think it's the mental side he's struggling with. He needs confidence and support. I hate to sound like i'm taking sideswipes at people because everyones entitled to an opinion but where footballers are concerned i'm more willing to take the opnion of Kenny Dalglish, Alan Shearer, and professional scouts and coaches that have backed him than anyone on forums.

They know their stuff. Support Andy Carroll the Liverpool way.

Have faith  :)

You'll Never Walk Alone right? That includes Carroll?
