Have to admit the jury is out for me re Carroll but it's swaying to the cynical side of the opinion if at all. I think it's his style I'm not keen on - big tall cumbersome target man a bit like Niall Quinn but with a few more bells and whistles I suppose.

50+ million spent on two "raw" talents.  That's scary stuff.  Everyone's saying in Kenny We Trust.  That's all I can say as well but it's a huge gamble.

He is just a young lad. Let Kenny do his magic and gerarrd to stir up his fire. With on the field antics of our captain who led by example, he will turn good. He looks like a fighter who will not let it rest easily.. Giv him a chance.

I can't believe so many people are judging him already.. give the lad a chance. He looked brilliant in a shitty Newcastle side for the first half of the season and then had a bad injury. He will come good.

We need a striker like A.Carroll around but he's not worth 35 mill. I'd say Suarez is the one whose worth that kind of money.

i think what comes around, goes around.
we sign Suarez on a dirt cheap price, and we overpaid for Carroll.

so this 2 deals work out for each other.
sometimes u sign players on a bargain ( Suarez, Adam) and sometimes u overpaid for players (Carroll, Hendo etc etc). thats football.

of coz on hindsight we could have sign Carroll for 25m now instead of 35m during the Jan window.
but he is only like 22 yrs old now, 5 yrs from now if he work hard he will be a v v scary player.

Remove the cash* from the January deals and we swapped Torres for Carroll and Suarez. Great business.

*OK there is maybe a few million on top but still a very good deal for LFC.

Carroll will never be easy on the eye but he is going to make goals happen one way or another. He looked pretty :censored: for the most part against Guangdong but managed to score one and assist on another one was on a hoof I believe so he created something out of nothing which is what all great players do.

Good for him that he scored in the friendly. I really hope I'm wrong on him.

I still rate him.  Last season he should how talented he can be against city.. He had a great game and he had those all the time for Newcastle.  Now he should be injury free and fully hit with somebody like Barton who actually gives him good balls.  We couldn't get him :censored: last season, and when we did he'd fight for every ball.

I'm excited... I'm very excited.  We didn't have a single person playing with Carroll last year that could consistently give him good balls in the air.  Meireles could but his inconsistencies hurt a lot.  Now we have 3 in Gerrard, Downing and Adam.

Carroll will be a very busy boy next season.  I can see him grabbing a lot of goals and even getting a lot of assists.  He's great at playing the ball off to people, even when lunging for it in the air.

Why do people doubt him?  KENNY signed him enough said. BTW we got Carroll and Suarez basically for nothing. We sold that spaniard to cheatski and babel to hoffenhiem. Maybe we also saved on wages too
