I saw that picture of him on the LFC site out-jumping one of the braga players. My goodness, why even make an attempt?  The top of his head literally must be 10 feet off the ground, it's just crazy.  Him winning those headers, creating so many more opportunities for us.  If he can connect well with Suarez in the box, or Meireles or Gerrard at the top of the box, he could get a lot of assists.  At the beginning of the season, it was like we need Soto in the box so we can win anything.  Now if we have Carroll and Soto in the box, we have a good chance of winning almost every header.

and when he scores the ball generally goes across the goal line (actually I also heard that when he runs, his legs move)

I wouldn't quite go that far just yet but he certainly looked keen, willing and able and will bring something different to the team. He is certainly not frightened to put himself about.

We looked a far better balanced team when he came on and Spearing moved into CM alongside Lucas.

I'm sure he'll get a start next thursday and we'll play better at home. He could be the difference, 2 goals from him next week.

Thought he was excellent when coming on and caused all sort of problems. It does worry me that it gives our back four another excuse to pump it long all the time though. We do it enough when Caroll isn't in the side, escpecially with Carra and Skrtel at the back.

It's even more obvious now that we need a couple of decent out and out wingers aswell. Our lack of width is embarassing at times.

My exact thoughts when watching the game last night.

Yeah same as. Just when we were starting to pass the ball around nicely we revert to the long ball game. I'm hoping that was just because we were chasing the game and not looking too good keeping it on the ground in this particular game.

The lack of quality on the ball at the back without Agger and Aurelio is shocking. We need ball players otherwise you can't get the ball to the decent attacking players you have in the right areas enough.

Maybe the defenders who like to hoof it will do the same thing and the defenders that don't like to hoof it, won't.  Now at least when they are hoofing it up the pitch, we aren't just giving it away, we actually have a good chance of keeping the ball now.

I've already made up my mind about him ever since I started watching him at Newcastle this season. He is a big and powerful striker who can score goals and bully defenders all day. In the air he is the best in the premiership, even John Terry struggles against him in that department (JT is the best defender in the air in the league).

All we need is out and out wingers to get the best out of him. Please I can't stand that hoofing  :censored: that Skrtel, Carragher and Kyriagkos do
