Don't think we can really start judging until he's got some proper games under his belt.

You could tell he wassnt fit, it looked like he just got a run out to make him confident.  He didn't do anything really but its good to see him on the pitch.

Yeah he looked sluggish but it was quite expected with him being out for so long. I think he will be a big difference when we play the ''lower'' league sides that we struggle against. The threat from set pieces will give other teams something else to think about.

Ya he wasn't doing a whole lot, not a lot of ball chasing like Suarez, his passing wan't 100%, but his touch on the ball was still good and I'm pretty sure he won every ball that came to him.

I imagine KK probably told him to take it easy, that's why he wasn't more involved, so I'm not too worried.  Would love to see him start against Braga, but obviously Kuyt will start up top against Braga.  Hopefully ngog isn't the second one up there.

totally agree with Ruthless - against the lower park the bus sides we have a few more dimensions to our play with Suarez and Carroll. I'm genuinely excited for next season but a lot of it depends on how much Kenny gets to spend (I'm already assuming he'll be our manager next season)
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Yeh he was rusty no suprises there but he also showed how dominant hes gonna be as a target man for us. Set Kuyt up, cleared a corner for us and nearly scored a peach of a header. You dont need to be a Messi type player who beats people for fun to justify a huge price tag. He'll bring players like Suarez and Miereles more into the game and offer us another option at corners, free kicks and give us more protection at the back from them. Hes gonna cause so much danger for opposition, hes like Crouch but heads like Shearer. You can never defend against players like him, players like Messi no matter how good can sometimes be nulified but players who are gaints and have a backbone as a defender theres pretty much :censored: all you can do.

Of course he's sluggish and out of shape! He's been injured for two months! That's why this match was a perfect debut for him...up by 3 goals, no pressure whatsoever, just the confidence boost of being introduced to a stadium full of admirers on an already-fantastic day.

I don't even really care if he scores many goals this season...he's a signing for the future, and these last games will give him a foundation on which to build that he wouldn't have had if we'd signed him in the summer. As long as he doesn't wind up being a MASSIVE disaster (which we won't know until next season anyway), the combination of him and Suarez has the potential to strike fear into the PL for the next 6 or 7 years.

Except that Crouch is weak as hell compared to Carroll.

Just read on twitter that he bought a kevin nolan shirt for 900 quid in a charity gig and then gave it to the fan who he outbid in that gig. That is just class!

He will start on thursday!

Yeh thats a given mate you just have to look at thier build to know that. I was meaning hell win almost every header coming his way like Crouch use to but instead of closing his eyes and letting it bounce off his 50p head hell put some conviction into it.

Yep, he looked sharper today, perhaps he'll start next week? Hope so, we'll need him I think.
