Why don't they ask Suarez who he'd like to play up front with?

Or is that too simplistic?

Starting to think the same meself.  Suarez is amazing but his finishing is not brilliant.
And Carroll just isnt working out for us at all so far.  Makes it even worse now that Judas is finding form.

We definitely need a clinical striker in the side imo, a ''fox in the box'' to get us goals regularly.

Thanks Kenny. It all proves that KD, Commoli are human and can make blunders. They probably didn't do their homework on Carroll thoroughly enough.

I have a gut feeling, he won't be following the successes of Rushie, Aldo, Fowler and we need someone more capable up front to partner Suarez. Hope they will get quality striker in when the next window opens. But in the meantime, I think Bellers is a good alternative.

Maybe they should be kept behind for detention? Or made to do 1,000 lines "I must pay attention to players abilities before I spend £35 million on a dud"

in the 09/10 season he scored 19 in 42 games for newcastle, and in the first half of 10/11 before we bought him he scored 11 in 20 - not a bad record by anybodies standards. statistically its also a better record in the prem than in the championship - work that one out. managers and 'experts' up and down the country were hailing him as a very good player, some even calling him the best striker in the league at the time.

we were the ones that took a punt on him  - because we desperately needed a new striker - and also the ones that landed him with a 35 million quid price tag. the same price tag that a lot of people say doesn't matter and does matter in the very same post - which helps to confuse matters.

andy carroll is a good player, but for some reason he just isn't doing it for us at the moment. who knows whether its his confidence, our system, his lifestyle, or whatever? i'm as concerned as anybody that he isn't producing the goods he's supposed to be producing, but i'm not going to fall into the easy and comforting though trap of just deciding he's sh!t.

We should try to sign Plavuchenko..  I'm sorry but Andy can't be relied on this season and we need a partner for suarez now. Otherwise Suarez will burn out...

One thing is clear, football is a ruthless game these days and we can't afford to just give him a run in the first team.  If we want to fight for top 4 we need to play our strongest available 11 in all games.  Carroll on current form at least, doesn't deserve to be there.

Im not suggesting we offload the lad, but if we can afford it I wouldn't be against us signing another striker.

I have every confidence is Andy Carroll coming good. We do need mayvbe to tweek our style of play a little, but when you consider that "apparently" we bought Henderson and Downing to provide crosses for Andy to score from, can anyone give me a count of how many balls have they actually provided so far this season.

The fact that some on here have totally written him off and we have played less than 10 leagure games is amazing and these are the people who where saying "bring back the old Liverpool way" when H & G where here!!! shocking!
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

I think thats a minority though.  Most people want Carroll to come good but its just not happening for him at the moment.  (although the Wolves and Everton games were better).

We've used all the excuses up now as well.  We've blamed injury, fitness, confidence, team mates, needing time to settle in etc.

I dont want us to sell Andy, but bearing in mind that the club is more important than anyone, if its still not happening for Andy come January.. id look for a new striker in the window.  (and keeping Andy).

We did this a bit with Collymore under Evans where by we threw big money at the lad then Roy had problems fitting him into the team as he wasnt really a Liverpool type player. Bit of bother at times as Stan couldnt keep his mouth shut when he didnt play but eventually he went on to ok for the most part. I think we may need to build a team to suit Carroll because clearly the way we set our stall out at the minute is not working for him or us. Perhaps thats the long term goal and I certainly hope so otherwise we may have a problem here.

Seem to recall Rafa commenting once that he was looking at Carroll too when he was at the club. So he must of been on the clubs radar anyway prior Kenny's arrival. From a sell on value it probably made sense too, young up and coming talent and English - fits FSG's criteria. And no one could really argue with his record for Newcastle either.

It's alwasy so easy in hindsight. But the difference now is we can probably go out and buy another top striker if he doesn't work out. That's not something we could always do before as we had a 1 in 1 out policy.
