Also winning the competition itself should qualify us for next year?

7th and if we are not careful even the Bitters could overtake us.
Only 5 teams have scored less goals than us away from home this season, unbelievable!

With my optimistic hat on, I was looking at how, if possible at all, it was to finish fourth.

Essentially the following fixtures have to go this way -

Arsenal v Man City - Arsenal WIN
Man Utd v Tottenham - Man Utd WIN
Man City v Aston Villa - DRAW or Aston Villa WIN
Liverpool v Chelsea - Liverpool WIN
Man City v Tottenham - DRAW or Man City WIN

If the above fixtures pan out, the last game of the season and the fight for fourth will be decided on goal difference.

Never lose hope.

:D

BTW - If you do want a flutter, Liverpool are around 18/1 to finish fourth. 7/4 to win the Europa League.

Combine them and you have yourselves a potentially lucrative 50/1 double.

I have two pund in my wallet, worth a shout anyway
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

we'll finish 7th this year (looking likely), and probably a point above the bitters :(

Don't worry though, we can paint a silver lining on it by winning a mickey mouse cup and call it "successful" !

Mickey Mouse Cup - which one are you alluding to MR?

Surely not that Europa Cup - if so I tell ya this place is far too up itself !

Good enough for Shanks, good enough for me. Simple as that. He'd probably clock someone for calling it a micky mouse.

Maximum we could get is 68 points. That means Spurs need four points from four games and City need six points from four games (with the same goal difference). Tough but not impossible.
