Rafael Benitez.

The joke isn't funny anymore.

Perhaps Heimdall was correct in his remarks about him.

He missed the most easiest chances I have ever seen, I would have scored those, he IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH - FACT

we did - but not as a result of torres being on / off the field.

we came forward with more urgency the more the game went on. gerrard got further forward. johnson got further forward.

if we started the game like we played in the last 10 minutes, we wouldnt have lost

that said taking off Torres for anything other than an injury just makes no sense at all and an injury doesnt seem likely

Or if he was just playing sh*t or could be playing with a niggling knock he picked up against Benfica? He was kicked stupid in that game, but some seem to have forgotten about that on here. Anyway, we created more when he was off the pitch than when he was on it. We really should have won, and I agree it's not this game that's cost us. It was the previous 15 or so away games before it.

ER... look at Torres' expression.. he was fine! he shook his head on why the Rafa is taking him off?!

Yeah, but some players should never be subbed, ever, even if their leg is hanging off. The likes of Torres and Gerrard can only be subbed if we are winning 6-0.

The top four went to Birmingham and left with a point, but when we do it we're sh*t, and Rafa's clueless. Told you all we'll never make fourth with our away form as it is. A point is a good point here, sadly 4th was well beyond us by now.

You're missing the point by miles lad. Rafa subs the only striker we have at 1-1 with 30 mins remaining. Mcleish takes off a midfielder for another striker. The difference one manager is clueless the other manager is Alex Mcleish.

I swear if we got relegated you'd still back that joke of a manager.

Sooo many chances but even that is Rafa's fault....

Why you ask? when you bring just ok players ,just above medium players that's what you get...Ngong was OK in my opinion but OK isn't enough to win games in the Premiership ,Maxi was OK but again out of 3 chances left nothing to rememeber..

This bunch of OK players and an OK manager leaves us with :censored: at this stage.

Sick and tired of this manager  - it is hard to imagine the ruins he left us with and how much money we will need to spend to restrucutre the club...

Anyone catch the clip on Gerrad's face when Torres was substituted? Priceless. Even he was stunned.

So many chances missed which I'm sure will be Rafa's statement after the game even after pulling off Torres. That will be his defense on subbing him out.

Even if those chances had gone in, it doesn't justify subbing out one of your few match winners on the pitch on what was a must win game.

I am by all counts an Anti-Rafa, but he shouldn't be blamed for this result.  He made a sub that at first made me feel like kicking the dog.  But fact of the matter, we created far more chances after the subs were made.  It was almost like taking Torres off made us pull together collectively to pull a result out of the fire.  Better execution from those on the pitch and it's effectiveness would have been verified.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

mate the look on his face and the other players faces tells you there was nothing wrong with him.

Yeah, you are correct. I'd still back him, but I'm not so fickle to barrate a manager for making one f*cking sub. A manager makes subs for impact, and when Torres came off, we created more chances, so who's right? You? Anyone on here? Give me a f*cking break. Some players, even the best, can have an off day and CAN be subbed.

Yes we got further forward, but partly cus Ngog's movement and urgency created the spaces upfront...

Torres is a great striker, but when he is not playing well a Mnager, any manager, would have to make a decision whether to live and hope or try to change things...

What I do not understand is how in one breath we can talk about Torres not being interested, and then criticize when he is subbed!

Ngog played decently, missed some gilt edged chances, but did well all the same. Not to give him his due is very disrespectful...
Floyd stepped left and threw the hook that caught Hatton flush under the chin. Finally, the British champ had arrived in that mythical place of which his fans speak: Hatton Wonderland.
