Me too
Id rather believe the made up version where he says he hates us. It saves time reading the true version.
In the end it doesnt matter. If you criticise our manager, or even seem to be critcising him, especially before an important game which we then lose, you deserve to be sacked because its got to be your fault we lost.
Rafa is above criticism no matter how true it is.

Well, every player in the squad would despair when they ask how to get into the team and Rafa points at Lucas and Kuyt...

Now this is not some lame attempt by me to re-visit my extreme reservations about us initially signing him, I've already said I was totally wrong on that score. He is a far better player than I remember from his City days, and has proved already that I was talking nonsense pre his signing.

I've said a few times though that despite providing obvious balance to the team, he has a tendancy to kind of run in snatches. Often he starts games brightly before fading, and whether thats as a result of tiredness or the full back getting into him a bit I'm not sure. I do feel though that his actual meaningful contributions to games, not counting nice flicks on the half way line and the rest have lessened over the last few weeks.

My view is he's becoming a bit ornamental, and needs a rocket up his erse. If Dossena wasn't quite so bad, I'd advocate Aurelio moving to left midfield for a game or two and giving Albert a bit of a rest. I just get the feeling that we need to see a lot more from him. Kuyt on the other side is a quarter of the footballer, but this season has contributed far more and my hunch at least is that Riera is on a bit of a downward spiral.

What a prediction...

B0llocks.

First he was injured, then he wasn't picked and that's why he's only started 9 games. With that in mind and the team play as badly as it has been it's no wonder his stock has declined.

Skysports:

Albert Riera is in danger of being left in limbo at Liverpool after Spartak Moscow ruled out a move for the winger.

The outspoken Spaniard has been told that he has no future at Anfield after a verbal attack against the managerial techniques of Rafa Benitez.

Two weeks ago it appeared that Riera was set to join Spartak on loan as the Russian transfer window is still open, but the deal collapsed.

The 27-year-old has since attempted to regain the faith of Benitez, however, the Liverpool boss has stated that there is no way back.

Riera, though, could be forced to wait until the summer for a move, with Spartak Moscow manager Valery Karpin saying in the Daily Mail: "I can tell you why the transfer didn't happen.

"Riera wanted to go to Spartak to hit the jackpot. We made him understand that this wouldn't happen with us.

"I can say there will be no acquisitions before the transfer window closes."

What a cheeky ba.tard . not a chance should he wear our shirt again,

Rafa's exit benefits me"

S. ADROVER. PALMA. Albert Riera has regained the hope of continuing to wear Liverpool's shirt after Benitez's exit from Anfield. "On a personal level, I benefit from his departure.  I was looking around for other options for the past couple of months.  It [Liverpool] was a closed door for me but now it is open once again", he admitted after taking part on a benefit golf tournament organised by Fundació Reial Mallorca that took place at Club Maioris in Llucmajor.

However, the mallorquín midfielder does not rule out a change of scenery despite the Spanish manager's absence.  "For now I'm staying but we know that unexpected things can happen in football.  The good thing is that I still attract interest and I'm sure the price wouldn't be a problem"he declared.  "I have two more years on my contract and another optional, I'm at a great club who aspire to play in the Champions League and to win titles, so it's difficult to want to change when you're in a place like this".

Riera lamented his poor campaign, in big part because of his bad relationship with Rafa Benitez.  "It's been a difficult year because I had problems with the manager, mostly because of misunderstandings.  It's no longer an issue of who's right or wrong, people should be able to understand one another and on his part I never got any feedback.  I'm over it now, although it has served me as a learning experience",he commented.    The 'manacorí' pointed out in resignation that if he had enjoyed of more playing time in Liverpool then perhaps he'd be amongst the chosen players to represent the national team in South Africa.  "It's a pity because under normal circumstances I could've been in the squad, a world cup is the biggest event in a footballer's career".

Well looks like he's gonna still be here next season. After his actions last season he should thank his lucky stars that he's going to get another chance and hasn't been bombed out the door already. As far as I'm concerned it'll take a hell of a lot for the guy to get the majority of fans back on his side again.

Unfortunately we're in such a state at the moment that we need to hold onto every single player we can as several player look like they could leave in the foreseeable future. I just hope he keeps his trap shut from now on and concentrates on playing football. Same for Babel and hopefully the two of them can thrive under the new manager.

in years to come Reira will regret shooting his mouth off. Not because of his isolation at Liverpool, but because he has missed out on probably his only chance of winning the World Cup.

That'll haunt him for the rest of his days.
